The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Julian Nates to the label for his debut EP. As one of Argentina's most promising talents, the Cordoba resident lays claim to releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Soundteller Records, while also earning the praise from progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J. Now following releases for Clubsonica Records and Massive Harmony to begin the year, Julian debuts on Dopamine White with ‘Deep Pocket'.

Beginning with the title cut Julian explores a somewhat deeper side of his studio repertoire. Free and flowing from the outset its spacious low end is perfectly contoured, providing momentous swing while detailed drums and tranquil arps fill in the framework. Stripping down into the main break the narrative expands with a second arp rising to prominence, gently elevating mood as a barrage of beats cues a meditative finale.

The companion piece ‘Detachment' follows with a subtle rise in energy and equally groovy framework. Once again backed by a hearty foundation, it's a maze of finely tuned percussion, buzzing stabs and timely effects which push momentum forward. Haunting overlays rise, adding tension with each successive loop, while playful arps convene in a unique sonic space. As the breakdown commences anticipatory vibes continue to grow through percussive clusters and fuzzed out stabs, eventually peaking for rousing finale. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Julian Nates, who makes an excellent Dopamine White debut here.
