Hot TuneiK – Memories (Lily Pita Remix) [Yin]

Rounding out what has been a sensational year Tripp Baronner’s Yin imprint revives ‘Memories’ by Hot TuneiK. Much like the US imprint, the Mexican artist has enjoyed perhaps his best year on record. Released in April courtesy of Proton Music, ‘Memories’ was certainly a highlight, currently sitting in his top five best selling tracks for the year while also earning chart support from D-Formation. Yin now calls upon one of the underground’s finest in Lily Pita to bring new life to the track.

With past releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and more recently an appearance on Quivver’s ‘ReKonstruct’ LP, Lily has continued to impress. Her interpretation of ‘Memories’ has turned out beautifully and no doubt foreshadows great things to come in 2019. The integrity of Hot’s groove is well maintained, tightened and more compact however and nicely dialled for the dance floor. On this foundation the Indonesian artist builds a captivating melodic storyboard, as hypnotizing motifs intertwine before a haze of a sonics build to an effervescent sizzle during the main break. A classy rework from Lily which will likely find a home in the sets of progressive music’s finest DJs.
