The latest release on Balkan Connection finds the label pairing two of the Ukraine's progressive stars for a fresh collaboration. Tech D and Gvozdini have both achieved immense success in their respective solo careers with releases on DAR, Manual Music and Replug. Now coming together for a brand new collaboration the duo present 'Lost Dream’ alongside remixes from Paul Kardos and Michael A.

Beginning with the title track the Ukrainian duo go clean and serene with a smooth progressive house workout. Airy textures and seaside motifs adorn the club friendly framework as indistinct vocals and a catchy lead line carry the track into the second act. Stripping down slowly, it’s a darker synth line which brings a subtle tension here, perfectly building anticipation for the gorgeous finish to come. The companion piece ‘Gravity’ sees Tech D flying solo and crafting an uptempo, musical number. Percussive and vibrant from the outset it’s a tantalizing arp and wonky keys which attract the most attention, while gated vocals and timely effects add the icing on the cake.

The lone interpretation of 'Lost Dreams' is provided by Paul Kardos who is making his label debut. The Hungarian artist is fresh off an amazing remix for Strange Town Recordings and also owns releases on Clubsonica Records, Particles and Perspectives Digital. Paul's pure progressive sound has become loved amongst the genres most diehard fans and his remix here will only add to his reputation. It's powerful groove chugs along at a wonderful tempo, energetic but still ultra groovy while percussive splashes and striking motifs perfectly set up an emotive break. I can't help but think this sounds a bit like 'Love On A Real Train' by Tangerine Dream and that's definitely a good thing, emotive yet spacey, it's an ideal detour before the meaty groove drops for a powerful finish.

The lone interpretation of 'Gravity' is provided by Michael A who is fresh off a massive EP for Cid Inc's Replug Records. Also on the Belarus artist's 2018 discography is a collaboration with Montreal's Simply City, released courtesy of Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Now returning to Balkan Connection Michael brings 'Gravity' closer to the dance floor with a very groovy interpretation. Bulbous kicks and a thunderous foundation set the piece in motion before the main arp and waves of percussion encase the framework. There's a shifty atmospheric storyboard which builds quite elegantly, perfectly transitioning the track into a serene break before dropping out for a heads down finale. A massive remix from one of the progressive scene's finest, capping off another well rounded offering from Balkan Connection. Don't miss it.
