Releases Galexis – Afterglow [Soundteller Records] By Release Promo Posted on 14th October 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Galexis returns to Deersky’s Soundteller Records with a new single entitled ‘Afterglow’. The German artist first appeared on the Polish imprint in December of last year with his ‘Man On The Moon’ EP. It was just the second release of his career and set in motion what has been a successful 2018, highlighted by releases on ICONYC, ICONYC Noir and Balkan Connection’s BC2 division. Now returning to Soundteller for his second appearance Galexis presents his latest studio creation alongside remixes from Gaston Ponte and Nicholas Van Orton. The German artist has found favour throughout the progressive music community for his crunchy melodic sound and ‘Afterglow’ proves to be one of his finest tracks to date. Tough yet musical it’s a near nine minute journey into buzzing grooves and timeless motifs. Some heavy character on the low end immediately grabs your attention and it’s euphoric drive quickly becomes infectious, but it’s the poignant break which you’re likely to remember long after the night is over. Short and to the point it’s an interlude which perfectly segues the piece into a musical third act and ultimately an exhilarating finale. First up on the remixes is Soundteller label artist Gaston Ponte who returns for his fourth appearance. The Buenos Aires based producer presented his well received ‘Saved’ EP in August and also remixed Cream & Deep Fog’s ‘Moon’ shortly thereafter. Here he puts a pure progressive spin on ‘Afterglow’ with a chunkier, chugging groove and a hugely emotive second act. The main themes from the original translate quite well and the widescreen appeal of the break really hits home. Definitely one you might hear in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo or Nick Warren in the very near future. The release is rounded out with one of progressive music’s scene veterans in Nicholas Van Orton. The Argentinean artist and BCSA label boss is widely regarded for his ultra groovy productions and he’s brought that refined approach here once again. Nicholas’ thick slabs of bass are immediately recognizable, powering the low end with maximum roll and undulation, before a short but timely break elevates the mood. It’s hard to go wrong using the main themes, they are undeniably powerful and while Nicholas keeps the vibe pretty restained it’s perfect for the more seasoned listener or dance floor. A masterful remix from one of the scenes finest, capping off a well rounded offering from Soundteller Records once again. Highly Recommended.
