Elliot Moriarty – When Path’s Becomes Clear [Stellar Fountain]

The latest release from Stellar Fountain welcomes Elliot Moriarty to the label for his debut single. Based in the UK, London resident Elliot Moriarty first came to out attention in 2021 with a release via Suprematic. The two-track showcase led by the gorgeous 'Cascading Memories' made Elliot a new artist to watch in the world of organic house. Subsequent projects for Flug Lab and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden followed shortly thereafter and landed in equally impressive fashion. Now, on the strength of an EP for Berlin's Sirin Music, Elliot makes his Stellar Fountain debut with 'When Path's Becomes Clear', alongside remixes from Monojoke and Augusto Landucci.

The original mix finds a nice balance between organic and progressive house with a lean towards the latter. Punchy kicks, hypnagogic arps and flashing percussion provide a sturdy anchor for nostalgic chord stabs to smoothly segue into the main break. Melting down to a quiet calm, the centrepiece builds anticipation as rolling percussion emerges, playing off the primary themes and eventually giving way for Elliot's mature no frills framework to deliver a mid-set style finale.

First up on the remixes is Monojoke who returns to the label following releases for 3rd Avenue and Nordic Voyage. The Polish artist flexes his free-thinking muscles with a version that is equal parts groovy and emotive. The rolling, key changing bass lines sound fabulous and are wonderfully shaped with contour and undulation, while waves of colourful synth phrasing make for an unforgettable break and final movement.

The release concludes with Augusto Landucci returning to the label for the second and final interpretation of 'When Path's Becomes Clear'. The Argentinean artist follows on from his 2021 remix of 'Double C' by Nicolas Soria with another standout production here. Opting for a deeper approach, the tempo comes down a touch and the low end runs with a much funkier and more spacious feel. Dubbier overall as well, the main break still delivers some timely melodic content which perfectly sets the stage for a finale of exotic drums and playful tonal themes. A sensational remix from Augusto which rounds out an impressive Stellar Fountain debut for Elliot Moriarty. Highly recommended.
