Dr Green – Om [SLC-6 Music]

The latest release from D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music finds label stalwart Dr Green returning for a new single. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6's core artists since making his debut in 2022 with a contribution to the SIX: Stage-11 collection. The next two calendar years would see Daniel deliver six originals and two remixes for the American imprint, while also finding a home on Droid9 and La Foresta, amongst others. Now, fresh off a remix for AH Digital to start the spring season, Dr Green returns to SLC-6 with 'Om', alongside remixes from A-Jay and Venao.

Much like his most recent SLC-6 single 'Satya', 'Om' carries a vibe that is both electric and club-effective. Trippy effects and rolling percussion layer pulsating grooves and buoyant beats across a cruising first act, perfectly setting the stage for a cross-cultural vocal and tension filled break, the latter of which is sure to lift the mood of any dancefloor. Making his label debut with the first interpretation of 'Om' is A-Jay. Also based in Sri Lanka, the Colombo resident has firmly etched his place in the global progressive house scene with releases via Beatfreak, Mango Alley and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Always a creative remixer, A-Jay puts his own trippy spin on 'Om' with buzzing stabs, panning effects and an evolving lead theme which is equal parts mesmerizing and prophetic. Rounding out the release is Venao who also makes his label debut following strong projects for Balkan Connection, Comet Records, Deep Down Music and Moonlight. The Brazilian artist opts for a dubbier approach, in turn relying on effects, atmosphere and a strong percussive cadence to deliver a cosmic experience to cap off the release in fine fashion.
