There's some serious mania going on at Jannowitz headquarters – we just gathered three of the hottest Brazilian superstar Djs and teamed them up with our favourite Japanese act. John Johnson’s ICONYC imprint goes electronica this week with a brand new EP from Huminal. The Dutch duo first appeared on the US imprint in February of 2016 with a remix of ‘Obscure’ by Stergios. Subsequent releases on Einmusika and MNL have solidified Huminal as a premiere act in the progressive house underground. We now get to see a slightly different side of them with their three track offering for ICONYC entitled ‘Anger Management’. This is a release that I wish more labels would take on, seeing a talented duo like Huminal operate outside of the confines of a traditional club track is quite exciting. For those who don't know you are real life brothers so walk us through how Monkey Safari came to be? Were you guys producing solo at any time in your career? We started djing around 15 years ago, when we bought two 1210s and a mixer. We never played together, because Sven was more into UK Garage/Big Beat and Electronic Music and I came from the Hip Hop and Soul music side of things. After a couple of years we founded our first label together with some friends and that was the starting point of Monkey Safari. The whole music production thing started at this point. First off al im really curious how it all started for you?
