We last heard from the Zurich resident with the August release of his 'They Are Coming Back' single. Accompanied by remixes from Echo Babylon and Tenerfuse it proved to be yet another memorable release for the Swiss artist and imprint. Now reaching further into his hypnotic reservoir, Bynomic presents a new single alongside remixes from Jose Tabarez, Owersound and rAin. From the opening bars of ‘Forbidden Fruits’ you get an immediate sense that Bynomic has crafted some of his most powerful work to date. Muscular and driving, it’s undulating foundation is full of contour and character, while clattering percussion and arpeggiated fragments build a larger sense of space as the narrative takes shape. Hopeful pads hover above, elevating mood across the first act, eventually leading to a more distinct and consciousness expanding arp. Decidedly hypnotic, this tranquil concoction of sound flows into the main break, providing moments of clarity and warmth, before a flurry of percussion and beats sparks a driving finale. Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of 'Forbidden Fruits' is Jose Tabarez. The Hungarian born, UK based producer has earned praise throughout the underground for his quirky progressive style and timely output. His near decade long career has seen him land releases on 3rd Avenue, Clubsonica and Soundteller Records. Now following a remix for PHW Elements, Jose debuts on Another Life with a stunning rendition of 'Forbidden Fruits'. Complementing the original perfectly, the tempo comes down and the groove opens up for more of a deep and spacious vibe. The sleek, meditative themes translate very well and with a healthy dose of effects the message is truly cosmic. Always looking to bring emotion to what he does, Jose works a series of nostalgic chord changes across the break, as processed pianos add just the right poignant touch. Also making his label debut and providing the second interpretation of 'Forbidden Fruits' is Owersound. The Russian artist first appeared on the progressive music scene in 2015 with releases on Dopamine Music and Electronic Tree. The next four years has seen a slow and steady rise, featuring subsequent outings for Balkan Connection, Clinique Recordings and ICONYC. Now bringing his unique vision to Another Life he delivers a heady interpretation of 'Forbidden Fruit'. Anchored by tight, punchy beats and clean, dynamic percussion, this is an immaculately produced nine minute journey. Thick slabs of bass power the foundation, flowing through smooth chord changes as effervescent arps flicker above. An atmospheric top line rises into the second act, as glassy hypnotics merge into glowing clusters, ultimately providing an emotive peak to this satisfying journey. The release concludes with rAin providing the final interpretation of 'Forbidden Fruit' and completing this trifecta of remixer debuts. A household name in his home country of Mauritius, the Port-Louis resident has shared the decks with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Patrice Baumel, Eelke Kleijn and a long list of international talents. Also holding a high production pedigree rAin has showcased his music on Droid9 Juicebox Music, Manual Music, Massive Harmony Records and Soundteller Records. Now after lending his remixer talents to PHW Elements, rAin makes a welcome debut on Another Life with classy take on 'Forbidden Fruit'. Adding more of a modern vibe, rAin reshapes the groove into something much chunkier and deep, while whistle like phrases and swing heavy percussion fill in the framework. The main theme translates nicely, sitting gently under the surface as rugged synths add colourful rhythmic character. Tense yet exhilarating, the centrepiece is incredibly striking, although brief it serves to reset the groove amidst an array of swirling effects, as it peaks with a fiery drop and chugging finale. A heady interpretation from rAin once again, which caps off a very well rounded release from Bynomic's Another Life Music. Highly recommended.
