In what has been a storied career, Antrim has been prolific across the first half of 2024. The Hernan Cattaneo supported ‘La Fin Du Monde’ and ‘Meeting Point’ would get the year underway in style, a release which found the Cordoba resident returning to Clubsonica, a label where he carries a long creative partnership. The timeless two-tracker would set the course for a trio of Or Two Strangers offerings, firstly ‘Prokliseis / Green’, a double a-side release which was quickly followed by his first remix of the year, an emotive take on ‘Looking For You’ by Alto Astral, before the May release of ‘The Axis’, a vocal collaboration with Juan Fernandez which enjoyed steady play across the spring club season. Antrim’s debut artist album, the Sudbeat released, Bandcamp only ‘Beat2Be’, landed in 2021 and was a collaborative project with a bevy of progressive music’s finest artists in Analog Jungs, Ezequiel Airas, Marcelo Vasami and Nicolas Rada, amongst others. Now, three years on from its release, Antrim has emerged with a new full length solo effort entitled ‘Hang On’. Due for release at the end of July, Or Two Strangers now presents the album’s introductory single ‘Never Gets Old'. 'Never Gets Old' is exactly the kind of confounding starting point that an Antrim project seems to relish in; one with a sprawling, saga-like story to tell. Unique in design and execution, its punchy kick drums, strong cadence and playful, character-rich motifs maintain a whimsical sense, but without sacrificing genuine soul and emotion; and with a break filled with moments of calm and fire-starting spontaneity, it's a creation that astute dancefloors will certainly appreciate as we enter into the festival season. 'Never Gets Old’ sees its official release on June 28th, followed by the full ‘Hang On’ LP July 26th.
