Releases Nishan Lee – Modano [One Of A Kind] By Release Promo Posted on 20th June 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest from Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint welcomes Nishan Lee to the label for his debut single. Currently one of Sri Lanka’s hottest electronic music exports, Nishan also owns releases on Asymmetric Recordings, Juicebox Music, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records. Now making his much anticipated One Of A Kind debut Nishan presents his new single ‘Modano’ alongside remixes from Greenage, Hasith and Erich Von Kollar. The season is upon us for feel good progressive house and that’s exactly what ‘Modano’ delivers. Smooth but powerful bass tones make up the foundation while a tight rhythmic section adds bounce and swing. The melodic elements are quite tasteful; subtle ultimately and that’s what makes this such a gorgeous record, teasing your emotions throughout without ever fully cracking them. A serene, blissed out journey from Nishan. There are three remixes provided on the release and they all offer something quite complementary to the original. First up is one of India’s rising stars Greenage who is also making his label debut. He follows a great interpretation of ‘Mindset’ by Jose Tabarez (courtesy of Stellar Fountain) in May with another solid remix here. Coming in bigger and bolder than the original this version takes you straight into the cosmos with astral affects and a driving, pure progressive storyboard. A rugged, energetic low end and big squelchy swells give the mix a massive presence but it’s the fine details which really shine. The effects are gorgeous, moving through a moderately emotive break with unpredictable flair before a more prominent lead theme ultimately completes the track. Massive remix from Greenage. Next up Hasith makes his label debut following releases on BC2 and Clinique Recordings. As one of Sri Lanka’s most promising newcomers he delivers a sensational remix of ‘Modano’. Coming in a touch smoother and deeper than the Greenage version steers this away from peak time play but it’s not far off. The low end is still packed with drive and it’s chuggy rhythmic core is undeniably progressive. A long break does wonders for building tension and with a tasteful build the mix retains its dignity quite well. A great remix from Hasith, who you'll definitely be hearing a lot more about in the future. The release concludes with Erich Von Kollar also making his One Of A Kind debut. The Hungarian artist and Stellar Fountain label boss has had his best year on record with releases on ICONYC, Hookah and Soundteller Records. Continuing that momentum he closes out the release with a creative interpretation of ‘Modano’. Probably the most different of all the versions here, Erich has reshaped the lead themes into something much more ethereal and effervescent in quality, making for a heavenly eight minute journey that still sits comfortably in the pure progressive spectrum. It rounds out another great offering from Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. Highly Recommended.
