Guy J's Lost & Found continues a great year by welcoming Eli Nissan back to the label for a new single. The Israeli artist made his label debut in June of 2017 with the cosmic sounding 'Liquid Stars'. It was a release that set the course for a three year creative swell from the Tel Aviv resident, showcasing his music on Balance, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, EDGE, Plattenbank and Rumours. Now following a rare remix for Hoomidaas, Eli lands back on Lost & Found with 'Karnaval', alongside remixes from Guy Mantzur and Roy Rosenfeld.

Often sitting in the creative space between organic and progressive house, Eli leans closer to the latter on 'Karnaval'. Playful rhythms, exotic percussion and lively electronics set the course for this buoyant journey. Mounds of perfectly contoured bass roll forward with infectious momentum, as emerging arps, incandescent harmonics and nostalgic chord changes smoothly shift energy into a radiant break. Reflective and heartfelt, the centrepiece furthers the emotive narrative through tasteful modulation and timely transitions, eventually resetting the groove for a powerful final movement.

A star studded remixer cast finds Guy Mantzur presenting his first production of 2020. We last heard from the progressive music icon just over a year ago, with the August 2019 release of his Khen collaborations 'Where Is Home' and 'My Golden Cage' via John Digweed's Bedrock Records. Always a creative remixer, Guy takes a cue from the original and brings more of a spacious, cosmic vibe to the proceedings. The lead arp remains much less pronounced throughout, lying gently under the surface, allowing a wide array of astral sonics and choir-like overlays to work their magic across a delightfully hypnotic, thought provoking journey.

Rounding out the release and also returning to the label is the always excellent Roy Rosenfeld. Having released his 'Helena' EP for Lost & Found in May of 2018, Roy has been prolific across 2020, already showcasing his music on All Day I Dream, Rumours and TRYBESof. Now making a welcome return to Guy J's storied imprint, Roy delivers his first remix for the label. Possessing a main room sensibility, it’s punchy kicks, fiery percussion and mountainous bass tones create waves of energy as the first act evolves. The main theme gets deconstructed and re-arranged into something much tripper and carnival-esque if you will. Incredibly catchy, it marries well with the robust rhythms which surround it, perfectly segueing into a retro break and ultimately getting further modular tweaks across a euphoric final act. A powerful rendition from Roy which caps off a hugely successful return to Lost & Found for all three artists involved, and perhaps making it the label's standout release of the year this far. Highly recommended.
