The latest offering from Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP finds VegaZ SL & Nicolas Benedetti presenting their second ever collaboration ‘Timeless’. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Sri Lanka, Vegaz SL has established himself with a mesmerizing groovy sound that continues to fuel his country’s dancefloors. On the strength of early tracks in 2021, the Galle resident would go on to compile an impressive resume across the next four calendar years, showcasing his music via Hoomidaas, Mango Alley, roku, Sound Avenue, WARPP and his own La Foresta imprint; while some of the world's most highly regarded DJs in Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren championed his work along the way. Meanwhile, Argentinean artist Nicolas Benedetti has enjoyed a quick rise since first emerging in 2019. The Buenos Aires resident would quickly earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Alex O'Rion, Mariano Mellino, Nicolas Rada and more, while landing key projects via Balkan Connection, Hoomidaas, onedotsixtwo, SLC-6 Music and Univack. Having been paired previously on ‘Metanoia’, a contribution to Hoomidaas’ ‘Hoom Side of the Moon’ Vol. 5 collection to round out a strong 2024, VegaZ SL and Nicolas now continue their creative partnership as 2025 begins, combining their extensive forces for RKP with ‘Timeless’, alongside remixes from Carlos Bacchüs, Deepfire and Licha Ignacio.
Beginning with the electric sounds of the Original Mix, VegaZ (SL) & Nicolas aim squarely for the dancefloor with great success. A smooth DJ friendly intro sets the pace for crunchy rhythms, orbiting effects and precise percussive arrangements to create an energetic first act. A series of emotive chord stabs carve out a rejuvenating path into the break, bringing with them a sense of hopeful anticipation. Siren-like synth flares strike across the interlude, all while maintaining a strong melodic quality, before a warm overlay and tasteful build pushes onwards to a finale that is equal parts grooved out and effects laden.
Returning to the label for the first interpretation of ‘Timeless’ is Carlos Bacchüs. Hailing from Colombia, Carlos Bacchus first emerged over a decade ago with releases via Smart Phenomena, System Recordings and his own Bacchus Records imprint. With a varied style that incorporates elements of deep house, tech house, electro, trance and more, the Barrancas resident eventually settled on progressive house. Continuing to perfect his craft going forward, Carlos has been both creative and prolific in recent years, now boasting a discography with releases via AH Digital, Balkan Connection and Onestar Records, the latter of which was supported by Paul Van Dyk on his Vonyc Sessions radioshow. Having made his RKP debut in quarter four of last year with ‘Deimos’, a two-track EP recorded alongside Ecuadorian artist
Sebas Ramos, Carlos now returns to the label in solo capacity for his remix, a progressive rendition of ‘Timeless’. Taking a smooth yet energetic approach, the Barrancas resident constructs a tight rhythmic core, complemented with punchy beats, reprocessed rhythms and emotional pads. It's this timeless fusion of sound which ultimately makes for a version that is both uplifting and club-effective; one that should crossover to a variety of dancefloors across the second quarter of 2025.
Making his label debut with the second interpretation of ‘Timeless’ is Saurabh Sandhu aka Deepfire. The Indian artist arrives on the label following promising productions for AH Digital, PHA, Moussaieff Records and SLC-6 Music across his first year of production. Now touted as one of India’s most promising newcomers, the Chandigarh resident embarks on the biggest project of his young career, putting a retro twist on ‘Timeless’. Opting for an old school approach, Deepfire’s full muscular grooves, hazy effects narrative and captivating melodic progression make this ideal for the peak-time hours, when emotions are at their most receptive, in turn adding another weapon to your arsenal.
The release concludes with Licha Ignacio making his label debut with the third and final interpretation of ‘Timeless’. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Licha Ignacio is in the early stages of his production journey. 2023 would see the Buenos Aires resident emerge with a contribution to Future Avenue's Summer Sampler, a release which would lead to subsequent offerings via Balkan Connection, Cafe De Anatolia and SLC-6 Music. Now, continuing to carve out his own path into 2025, Licha adds RKP to his resume with an organic take on ‘Timeless’. Adding further depth to the release, the Argentinean artist opts for a deep mystical approach, focusing on a cohesive blend of swaying grooves, exotic percussion and trippy motifs, while tastefully incorporating the original's qualities in transcendent fashion.
