D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the spring season by presenting the twenty-fifth edition of their SIX: Stage-X compilation series. Established six years ago, the beloved various artists showcase continues to search the globe for the freshest new talent that the electronic underground has to offer, featuring a cohesive blend of progressive and melodic techno styles. SIX: Stage-24 continues that ethos featuring exclusive new music from: Foreign Movies, Gándara (AR), Mindlancholic, Luciano Pelliza & Ger Nogueira, JP Mantero and BNogart.
Making his label debut with selection one is British artist Julian Peake aka Foreign Movies. Beloved for his releases via Global Underground and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, the London resident's latest 'Your Life' sets the tone for the release with chunky grooves and whimsical qualities that should appeal to a broad range of house DJs. Making his label debut is Gándara (AR) who provides selection two 'A Carousel'. The Argentinean talent comes off a well-received EP for South America Avenue with a dark edgy progressive cut that is sure to light up dancefloors with its stomped out kick drums, sharp design qualities and vibrant chord stabs, the latter of which provides an epic finale. Also making his label debut with selection three 'Travellers' is Peruvian artist Edú Castañeda a.k.a Mindlancholic. Best known for his releases via Freegrant Music, Progressive House Argentina and Transensations, the Barcelona resident delivers a smooth uplifting progressive house creation that's nicely geared for the morning hours.
The collection's halfway point welcomes Luciano Pelliza & Ger Nogueira following projects for Droid9 and Or Two Strangers. The Argentinean duo land on SLC-6 presenting their first collaborative project 'Smoke Sellers', a groovy progressive track that impresses with its driving basslines, squelchy effects and vibrant melodic topline. Staying in Argentina, JP Mantero makes his SLC-6 debut with the hypnotic sounds of 'Epiphany'. The Rosario resident delivers one of his most engaging creations to date, with dreamy vocal elements setting a canopy for charged beats, radiant textures and mystical melodic fragments to work their magic. The EP concludes with BNogart making his label debut with 'Synthient City', a track which marks his first ever release. The Irish artist gets his production career off to a strong start with nostalgic arps, buzzing chord stabs and a captivating spoken word vocal which is sure to leave a memorable impression on the dancefloor.
