Landing in December of 2020, the inaugural edition of 'ProgNoesis' featured an amalgamation of progressive house and melodic techno, with a cohesive blend of both new and established artists delivering genre-defying tracks. It set the course for the annual compilation series to be a highlight in the Greek imprint's release schedule. Now three volumes deep and 'ProgNoesis' has hosted the likes of Agustin Pietrocola, Chris Cargo, Der Effket, Fabri Lopez, Julian Nates, Not Demure and more. As a yearly tradition, Movement Recordings rounds out what has been a prosperous 2024, by welcoming Kris Dur, Dylan Deck & DEGG (MT), Dagai, Nicolas Benedetti, HAFT, Around Us, Anurag Nandvanshi & Mashter to the fifth and much-anticipated edition of 'ProgNoesis'. Getting the release underway is Kris Dur who returns to the label for his second appearance. Hailing from Mexico, Kris Dur has been a fixture of his country's nightlife for the better part of two decades. As a DJ first, Kris has been honing his skills at some of Mexico's trendiest venues, oftentimes blurring the lines between progressive, organic and melodic house. Also a producer, the Mexico City resident emerged in 2022 with a contribution to 3rd Avenue's popular 'We Are the Future' series, before going on to record projects for Freegrant Music, The Soundgarden and his own Join The Culture imprint, in turn earning support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada and Marcelo Vasami. With previous appearances on both Movement and Movement Limited, Kris now finds his way to the label’s primary platform with the groovy sounds of ‘Nuit’. Selection two finds occasional studio partners Dylan Deck and DEGG (MT) making their label debut with ‘Mediterranean Soul’. Hailing from Malta, Dylan Deck has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. On the strength of early tracks like 'Distinguished' and 'Darkest Night', Dylan was quickly recognized for his energetic grooves and emotive melodies. Projects for genre mainstays Another Life Music, Balkan Connection, Droid9 and more soon followed, as did support from Hernan Cattaneo and Miss Monique, making the Il-Hamrun resident a trusted talent to watch. Meanwhile, Maltese artist DEGG has enjoyed similar success across the last three years, beginning as DJ with notable appearance’s at some of Malta’s premiere venues in Clique, Playground, and Groove Gardens in Gianpula Village. With a production debut landing a year ago, the Zurrieq resident has already compiled an impressive resume with standout projects coming courtesy of Balkan Connection’s BC2, Moussaieff Records, SLC-6 Music and Venture, amongst others. Having previously worked together on a few occasions, Dyan and DEGG now combine their extensive forces once again for their Movement debut with the hypnotic sounds of ‘Mediterranean Soul’. Selection three finds Dagai making his label debut with ‘Surreal Mirrors’. Hailing from Belarus, Denis Shinkevich aka Dagai is at the beginning of his production journey. Armed with a style that blends heartfelt melodies and progressive grooves, the Gomel resident emerged earlier this year with a single ‘Domino’ via Morttagua’s Timeless Moment imprint. Well received for its blend of dark and light monochromes, the track would make Dagai an artist to watch going forward. Now, rounding out the year with just his second official release, Dagai debuts on Movement Recordings with the vocal led progressive piece ‘Surreal Mirrors’. Moving forward to selection four we welcome Nicolas Benedetti to the label with ‘Magari’. Argentinean artist Nicolas Benedetti has enjoyed a quick rise since first emerging in 2019 with releases via 3rd Avenue, Droid9 and Or Two Strangers affiliate Strangers Beats. The Buenos Aires resident would quickly earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Alex O'Rion, Mariano Mellino, Nicolas Rada and more, while landing key projects via Balkan Connection, Droid9, onedotsixtwo, SLC-6 Music and Univack. Now, fresh off a remix for Michael A, Nicolas makes an impressive Movement Recordings debut with the nostalgic sounds of ‘Magari’. For selection five we travel to Iran and welcome HAFT to the label with ‘United Frequencies’. With the better part of a decade's worth of production experience, it is Sam Nasehi and Amir Subb who make up the HAFT production duo. A 2017 debut on Pipe & Pochet would establish the duo's blend of mesmerizing synths and exotic percussive arrangements, a sound which would lead them to releases via Akbal Music, Do Not Sit and Hoomidaas across the last five calendar years. 2024 has seen HAFT continue to prosper and choose their projects wisely, notching standout releases for Clubsonica, Mango Alley, RKP and Warung Recordings. Now, closing out the year in style, HAFT adds Movement Recordings to their resume with the quirky progressive vibes of ‘United Frequencies’. As the collection begins to wind down we welcome Around Us to the label with ‘Midnight In LA’. Based in Amsterdam, Around Us first emerged in 2018, quickly establishing themselves as a rising act with releases via Balkan Connection's BC2, LuPS Records and Magnitude Recordings. World class DJ and progressive music tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo was the first to chime in with support, showcasing one of the duo's early productions 'Sleeping Blue' as part of his hugely popular Resident podcast. Fast forward five years and Around Us is now well established in the progressive house underground, with an impressive resume highlighted by appearances on Clubsonica, Freegrant, Mango Alley, Manual Music and Sound Avenue. Also no strangers to the Movement label collective, Around Us made an impressive debut on the platform’s Limited division last year with ‘Breathe’. Now, rounding out what has been a creative and prolific year, Around Us make their long awaited Movement Recordings debut with the deep, melodic sounds of ‘Midnight In LA’. The collection’s seventh and final selection welcomes Anurag Nandvanshi & Mashter to the label with ‘The Turning Point’. Hailing from India, both Anurag and Mashter come with over a decade’s worth of production experience. With a sound that often finds the creative sweet spot between progressive and melodic house & techno, Anurag and Mashter have both compiled impressive resumes. Releases via BluFin, Exx Boundless, JOOF, SLC-6 Music and Yomo Records sit prominently on their discographies, in turn earning support from some of the underground’s premiere tastemakers. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Anurag & Mashter make an impressive Movement Recordings debut with the cross-cultural vibes of ‘The Turning Point’.
