Releases Various Artists – La Cura de la Semana [La Cura de la Semana] By Release Promo Posted on 29th November 2020 7 min read 0 2 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The first release on La Cura de la Semana finds the label showcasing the first installment of it's 'La Cura de la Semana' series. Based in Cuba and founded by RYAN, the label looks to showcase progressive house, deep house and melodic techno, eventually branching off into downtempo in the future as well. For the label's first release, label boss RYAN has assembled some of Cuba's finest progressive music talents for a four track VA EP. Featured on the release in order of appearance are Dhany G, Different Age, RYAN (CUB) and Seycel. Leading the release off is Havana resident and Nature Rec. boss Dhany G with 'Point of Gravity'. Beginning with a spacey, progressive mood it’s warm beats, chugging bass stabs and smooth rhythmic flow quickly become irresistible. With a soulful essence, arpeggiated fragments steal the air, resonating in their organic surroundings, ultimately leading to a break of beaming melodic clusters and a tastefully trippy apex. Also based in Havana are the Different Age duo contribute 'Lunar Office' to the collection. Bright and positive from the outset, it's vibrant melodic motifs offset a buzzing low end, while hypnotic arps flow through the framework. Elastic-like modulation makes for some intense moments across the first act, before a dramatic break shifts energy into a groovy drop and playfully melodic finale. Label boss RYAN is up next with the smooth and groovy 'Vanilla Secret'. Played by Hernan Cattaneo on his Electronic Groove Podcast earlier this year, it now finds a place anchoring the first La Cura de la Semana release. It’s DJ friendly intro builds anticipation nicely with spacious bass tones, melancholic pads and rolling percussion. The bass line then fills out with pulsating swells, while layers of percussion, charming melodies and trailing effects carry into the break. Reflective in tone, it’s emotive storyboard board is one of deeper emotions. Wistful motifs create a heartfelt resonance across the interlude, gently building as the chugging groove drops for a glowing finale. Rounding out the release is the label's manager Seycel with his latest studio creation 'Rabia'. Born in Cuba, but now based in Mexico, the Mexico City resident leans closer to astral techno territory here. Backed by a tough, rolling groove it's detailed drum work and spaced out motifs quickly appease the senses. Cosmic effects and clattering percussion add a flair for the dramatic, while the lead theme continues to drive momentum forward. Stripping down into the main break, timely modulation sparks a quick drop followed by devilish stabs and metallic clusters which ultimately carry thetrack home. A quality production from Seycel which caps off an excellent first release for La Cura de la Semana. Don't miss it.
