The latest release from Deepwibe Underground welcomes VA O.N.E. to the label for his debut single. Having first appeared on the progressive music scene in 2017, the Russian artist has amassed an impressive discography. Releases on Another Life Music, Balkan Connection's BC2 and Clinqiue Recordings highlight his resume as he continues to perfect his deep hypnotic sound. Now landing on Deepwibe Underground for the first time, VA O.N.E. presents his new single 'Afterdeath' alongside remixes from Christian Monique, Alex Konstantinov and Coeer.

The original mix leads the release off with a deep, enchanting quality. It’s smooth, voluminous groove is layered with clattering percussion and trippy arps. As modulation rises on the main line so to does tension, fading in and out of the stereo field while vocal accents and bright tones steal the air. The second of two breaks sees a quiet yet tense cinematic approach, building anticipation with minimal fanfare as the groove drops for a meditative finale.

It's an expansive pack with three additional remixes to choose from and all adding something to the original with Christian Monique being first up. The Italian artist stays true to the deep and mysterious vibe from the original, all while adding a keen sense of detail and refinement. The framework is wonderfully crafted, punchy and organic with gorgeous sonic details. It's this captivating architecture which makes it such an amazing listen, add to that fragmented vocals from the original and a tripped out finale to seal it's brilliance.

Returning to the label and providing the second interpretation is Alex Konstantinov. Fresh off his Markey Lloyd remix from July, the Russian artist delivers another powerful progressive rendition here. The toughness and tempo come up a few notches with a deep, chugging groove and fresh effects narrative. The distinctive arp from the original gets utilized nicely, while emotive chord changes and luminous tonal themes add a newfound emotional quality to the track.

Rounding out the release and providing the final interpretation is Coeer which is a new alias for The Loco. The Russian born, China based artist and Early Origin label boss created Coerr to focus on a darker sound which comes to life in a major way here. It's techno state of mind is evident through a deliberate, driving framework, gaseous effects and pensive percussive rides. Acid-like growls and frantic rhythms advance the narrative into an expansive break, slowly melting down to a rumbling, futuristic drawl, as icy pads provide a perfect bridge into a thumping finale. It caps off another well rounded release for Deepwibe Underground, who continue to showcase some of progressive music’s most promising up and coming talent. Highly recommended.
