D.J. MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music closes out the month of February by welcoming Tryger to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Russia, Tryger has been a fixture of the electronic music underground for the better part of a decade. First rising to prominence with a string of early projects for Intricate Records, an imprint where he established a melodic progressive style that made him a name to watch. Continuing to perfect his craft going forward, the Russian artist would incorporate elements of organic and melodic house into his compositions, while earning the support of global tastemakers Above & Beyond, Adriatique, Armin Van Buuren, Korolova and Miss Monique. Standout projects via Amulanga, Siona and Songuara, amongst others would follow, solidifying Tryger as an in demand talent. Coming off a 2024 which proved to be his most prolific and creative to date, Tryger continues to build on that momentum as 2025 begins to shape, making his SLC-6 Music debut with ‘Punta’.
Continuing to flex his borderless approach to production, title selection ‘Punta’ lands with a timeless emotional quality that astute fans will appreciate. Tight crunchy grooves lay the foundation for energetic chord stabs, fragmented vocals and trance-inducing melodies, an amalgamation of sound that should deliver memorable dancefloor moments over the coming months. Selection two ‘Punta Dawn’ follows with a similarly club-effective framework, while key changing grooves and wispy melodic top lines make for a perfect morning weapon to add to your arsenal. The release concludes with ‘Stereo Moet’, a track which continues the cross-cultural vocal theme of the EP. Hook heavy chants combined with glowing overlays and timely breakbeats provide a perfect sonic fusion to shift the mood of any set.
