Teleport-X – Just Want to Know [Deepwibe Underground]

The latest release from Deepwibe Underground welcomes Teleport-X back to the label for a new single. The Russian imprint has developed into somewhat of a homebase for the Argentinean talent this year. A recent collaboration with label boss Monograph along with the April single 'Floating On' have made for a great spring season. Now continuing that momentum Teleport-X returns to Deepwibe Underground with 'Just Want to Know' alongside remixes from The Loco and Lio Q & Nicolas Leonelli.

Beginning with the original mix Teleport-X creates a smooth, meditative brand of progressive house. Deep and enchanting from the outset, it's warm groove is fluid yet buoyant, laying the perfect foundation for charming rhythms and muted tonal design. As the journey strips down into the main break, a soulful vocal narrative rises to prominence, mildly emotive it marries well with the tranquil vibe of the piece, eventually opening up into more distinct phrases as the beats drop for a wonderful rush and smooth finale.

The first remix is provided by The Loco who returns to the label for his second appearance. A regular contributor to Balkan Connection's BC2 and Mystic Carousel Records, the Russian born, China based artist now returns to Deepwibe Underground with a well constructed interpretation of 'Just Want to Know'. The framework opens up quite a bit here with a spacious groove and warm, key changing low end. The main theme gets utilized wonderfully, with a brighter more direct delivery, while additional melodic overlays and a subtle take on the vocal make for a classy musical journey.

Rounding out the release and providing the second final interpretation of 'Just Want to Know' is Lio Q & Nicolas Leonelli. The Argentinean duo have worked together once previously on an EP for Just Movement, while laying claim to impressive solo discographies highlighted by releases on John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings, Balkan Connection, Droid9 and Soundteller Records. Now presenting their first ever collaborative remix, Lio and Nicolas provide a pure progressive take on 'Just Want to Know'. The groove gets reworked into something a bit more rough and rugged, while a complement of electric lines and haunting sweeps fill in the framework. A tantalizing tonal theme then takes centrestage, a touch esoteric sounding and quite subversive as a result. It's a unique emotion, vastly different than the previous two mixes and with a commanding drop you know your dance floor will respond accordingly. A great remix from Lio Q & Nicolas Leonelli which finishes off another well put together release from Deepwibe Underground. Don't miss it.
