Tash's Movement Recordings opens the summer season by welcoming Tali Muss to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Azerbaijan, Anatoly Musaev aka Tali Muss first emerged a decade ago on the strength of early tracks 'Liberty' and 'Triol'. Immediately regarded for his melodic progressive sound, the Baku resident would be tipped as a rising force within the genre, earning favour from a broad range of tastemakers, from Armin Van Burren to Nick Warren. Projects on respected imprints in Freegrant Music, Outta Limits and WARPP would soon follow and with that Tali Muss became a Beatport sales chart staple. With 2024 already yielding a chart topping EP for Hollystone Records, Tali now adds Movement Recordings to his resume with 'Spooky Loops', alongside remixes from Hobin Rude and Allan McLoud.

Beginning with the title selection Tali crafts a slice of modern progressive house which is perfectly dialled for the dancefloor. Full of energetic qualities, the rising talent smoothly blends punchy kick drums and rolling grooves, with flashing synth motifs and clattering percussive arrangements, stepping decisively on the gas as the main break approaches. Looking to bring a greater sense of emotion during the interlude, it's a trail of incandescent synths and panoramic chord stabs which bring that big party vibe, before a tension-filled build sparks a finale that is equal parts epic and driving. The mainroom assault continues on companion piece 'Pusu', a track which carries a similar vibe and flow, all while utilizing a great sense of rhythm and intrigue, as vocal samples and rolling synth lines converge for an electric first movement. Leaving no stone unturned, Tali expands on the vocal narrative across the break, creating anticipation as modulation peaks and drums rise for a thunderous finale.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Spooky Lines' is Hobin Rude. Hailing from Serbia, Hobin Rude first emerged in 2020 on the strength of a remix for Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. His progressive sounds quickly found favour with the genre's premiere tastemakers Armen Miran, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, eventually leading to releases via Hoomidaas, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and WARPP. Also an established DJ, the Belgrade resident has played across the globe, showcasing his keen sense of dancefloor dynamics alongside elite international talents Guy J, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green and Volen Sentir and more. Movement Recordings has also been a landing spot for Hobin, with his debut coming in 2022 with the 'It Was and It Will' EP, a release followed shortly thereafter with a remix of 'Zagros' by Federico Monachesi. Now, on the heels of projects for Deep Down Music and iNU, Hobin returns to Movement for his third appearance, putting a tranquil twist on 'Spooky Lines'. Opting for a deeper, more celestial approach, Hobin's icy monochromes, hopeful atmospherics and effortless beats make this ideal for the morning hours when emotions are at their most vulnerable, a style of progressive house many producers don't venture in 2024, but Hobin does it in style here, in turn adding another weapon to his arsenal.

The release concludes with Allan McLoud returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Pusu'. Scottish-born, Zurich-based producer/DJ Allan McLoud has been involved in electronic music for well over three decades. The late eighties found Allan fascinated with the synth-driven styles which quickly found prominence during that era; a sound which led him to begin producing breakbeat influenced electronic music, before eventually finding his true passion in trance. It was a sound which would lead him to Germany where he began DJing in the country's north and building a catalog full of releases supported by the top DJs of the time. Fast forward to present day and Allan now calls Zurich home where he has rejuvenated his studio repertoire with the sounds of progressive house. His energetic melodic take on the genre has served him well, landing key releases for John OO Fleming's Joof Aura, Droid9 and Transensations. Movement Recordings has also been a recent landing spot for Allan with his label debut 'Solitude' enjoying a well-received January release, followed by a contribution to the label's 'Technical Progress' collection in May. Now, on the strength of recent releases for For Senses and LuPS Records, Allan returns to Movement with a huge rendition of 'Pusu'. Opting for a peak-time approach, Allan aims squarely at the dancefloor, taking the track into tougher territory. Complete with muscular kick drums and driving basslines, it's a storyboard of finely tuned percussion, offset stabs and deconstructed vocals which make for an exhilarating version, one that has quickly become Allan's go to sound.
