The latest release from RKP welcomes label boss Ruben Karapetyan back for a much anticipated new single. Born in Armenia but now calling Los Angeles home, Ruben Karapetyan has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. Following a ten-year hiatus, Ruben returned in 2020 to a rousing response via releases courtesy of Movement Recordings. On the strength of his first two singles for the label 'Gignesthai' and 'Hathor', Ruben quickly emerged as a hyped talent in the trend-driven state of progressive house. Releases via Clubsonica, Mango Alley, The Soundgarden, Meanwhile and more would soon follow, in turn establishing Ruben as a top tier talent and in demand remixer. 2024 has only furthered Ruben's place amongst the progressive house elite, with a creative swell of projects to begin the year, most recently teaming up with Albanian progressive house phenom Maze 28 for the Mango Alley vehicle 'Cosmic Dot'. Now returning to his home of RKP, Ruben presents his much anticipated single 'Silentium', alongside remixes from Jamie Stevens and Gai Barone.

The original mix leads the release off in grand fashion and showcases Ruben's depth and scope as an artist. Strong kick drums and a backdrop of glowing textural bliss provide the anchor for layers of flickering percussion and timely piano-infused interludes. Cruising effortlessly across the first movement, Ruben creates a strong sense of flow, as chunky bass tones and billowing stabs add a buoyant swing, while vocal overlays bring hopeful qualities. Misty harmonics and the piano motif continue to elevate mood as the break takes shape, conjuring up bucolic imagery, before a tasteful build spearheads an uplifting finale.

Making his label debut with the first interpretation of 'Silentium' is Jamie Stevens. As one of Australia's most talented and sought after artists, Jamie has proven his skill in professional sound design, music scores for film and contemporary electronic music. As the founding member of Infusion, the much-loved Australian live act, he's left his mark around the globe, headlining some of the biggest and most respected clubs including; Fabric (London), Pacha (Buenos Aires), Womb (Tokyo) and festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Roskilde and Creamfields in Moscow, Brazil, UK and Argentina. Moving forward Jamie's discography has been highlighted by releases on the industry's most revered imprints, such as All Day I Dream, Bedrock and Lost & Found, amongst others. Now adding RKP to his resume, Jamie debuts on the label with a fresh rendition of 'Silentium'. Opting for a techier and more refined take on the track, Jamie further fragments the vocal motif over a bed of pulsating beats, flickering arps and dubbed out stabs for a less musically dominant, yet equally engaging and at times emotive version that's perfect for the more astute dancefloors out there.

The release concludes with Gai Barone also making his label debut with the second final interpretation of 'Silentium'. With an esteemed career stretching the better part of two decades Gai Barone has become one of electronic music's most sought after artists. The renowned musician and Italian native has long been one of the industry's most fascinating producers. An unrivalled quest for the creation of something uniquely memorable and deeply moving has fuelled his sonic journey. As a true craftsman, it is this drive for excellence that makes each one of Gai's studio creations met with much anticipation. Afterglow, Bedrock, Lost & Found, Renaissance and his own Patternized Recordings imprint have been landing spots for some of his most notable work, while progressive music trendsetters such as Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and more have been steadfast supporters along the way. In a year that has already seen Gai record chart topping remixes for Dreaming Awake, Golden Wings Music and Vapour Recordings, the talented Italian now adds RKP to his resume with a mesmerizing take on 'Silentium'. Built beautifully across a cruising first act, it's a smooth coax of rumbling basslines and gentle arpeggiated sequences which sets the course for a memorable musical journey. A heartfelt break proves to be one of the most impactful parts of the creation, as a tasteful amalgamation of deconstructed vocals and percolating effects provide moments of hope and reflection, before smoothly segueing into a finale of cascading arps and haunting vocal fragments.
