Rick Pier O’Neil – Perch Remix Edition, Pt. 2 [Balkan Connection South America]

The latest release from Balkan Connection South America finds the label showcasing new remixes of Rick Pier O'Neil's 'Perch'. Originally released in September of this year it found the French artist crafting a deep, hypnotic slice of progressive house, backed by two excellent remixes from Desaturate and Imran Khan. Now keeping the spirit of the track alive, label boss Nicholas Van Orton and Fabri Lopez provide two new renditions.

The rhythmic qualities of the original certainly lend themselves well to Nicholas Van Orton's smooth style and the results are quite sensational. Exuding warmth, atmosphere and pristine design, the Buenos Aires resident’s unique sonic blueprint carries you on an ever evolving seven minute journey. Drawing on the sensibilities from the original while adding tranquil themes and delicate arps it might go down as one of Nicholas' most dreamy creations to date.

Rounding out the release is Fabri Lopez who continues to have an excellent year. The Villa Mercedes resident has delivered excellent remixes for Balkan Connection, Clubsonica Records and Superordinate Music in recent months, and now continues that momentum with an inspired take on 'Perch'. Adding more of a pure progressive vibe, Fabri reshapes the groove into something much chunkier and more distinct, while darker shades and tones slowly fill in the framework. The vocal wail and emerging atmospheres take centrestage leading into the main break, making for a tastefully emotive moment before getting pulled back as the groove drops for a driving finish. More magic from Fabri which rounds out a great remix edition for Rick Pier O'Neil's 'Perch' and Balkan Connection South America. Don't miss it.
