PERBELLS – Andromeda [Auditen Music]

Dynacom's Auditen Music returns, welcoming PERBELLS to the label for their debut EP 'Andromeda'. Hailing from Argentina and making up the PERBELLS production team are Lucas Perticarini and Nicolas Sanchez. Having got their career underway with a release on Balkan Connection South America just over a year ago, the duo then got 2019 off to a great start with a single for Julian Rodriguez's Massive Harmony Records. Now landing on Auditen for their first label project, PERBELLS present a brand new 3 track EP.

Known for showcasing both the deeper and progressive spectrum's of house, it's the latter which is predominant across this three track excursion. Beginning with the title selection it's dark and dramatic vibes immediately set the tone for the release. Brooding and mysterious from outset it’s tough beats and driving low end are perfectly juxtaposed against crunchy rhythms and piercing stabs. Astral meanderings fill in the framework quite nicely before stripping down into the main break for a consciousnesses expanding experience, not only providing tension but emotion as well, before effortlessly shifting energy into a devilish finale act.

The second selection ‘B.O.E’ follows a similar dramatic spirit with a slight lean into deeper yet still techno inspired territory. Beginning with a punchy, foreboding groove the piece moves with discernible momentum as layers of percussion and rugged stabs converge for a tight rhythmic core. A wonky tonal theme then fades to prominence, adding a hypnotizing charm as the main break begins. Trance inducing and beautifully crafted, it’s a kaleidoscope of cosmic colours that takes centrestage before a timely drop initiates an exhilarating third act.

The release concludes with ‘Black Eye’ which presents a deeper more free flowing storyboard. Beginning with tight beats and luminous tones, it’s meditative appeal quickly captures your imagination. Waves of dubbed out electronics then descend over the framework, eventually giving way to a quirky arp which provides the foundation of a fantastically cosmic break. It rounds out a superb Auditen Music debut for PERBELLS, who look to be one of the progressive scenes freshest new names as 2019 moves forward. Highly recommended.
