Hailing from Sri Lanka, Pasindu Chamith aka Pasindu first emerged in early 2021 with releases via Balkan Connection's BC2 and Clinique Recordings. His colourful blend of progressive house and melodic techno quickly found its way into the sets of trendsetting DJs, eventually leading to fall releases courtesy of Bevel Rec and Big Bells Music. Now adding Dopamine White to his resume, Pasindu makes his label debut with 'Found in the Wild'. Landing as one of Pasindu's finest productions to date, it is the uplifting qualities of the title selection which lead the release off. Played out over eight plus minutes, its swing heavy groove, rolling rhythmic structures and placid pads unite for amazing moments across the first act. An expansive break sits at the core of the piece, spanning over two minutes in length and slowly melting down to a bed of otherworldly arps and emotive bass swells, perfectly setting the stage for a spine-tingling drum roll, thumping drop and buzzing finale. The release concludes with the equally impressive grooves of 'Forget Your Soul'. Well in line with its predecessor, Pasindu marries crunchy rhythms and smooth percussive arrangements over a chunky, rolling groove. Once again, the main break is set to captivate dance floors with a two-minute array of meditative arps, ghostly vocal pads and sweeping effects, all of which unite for a timely crescendo and groove-centric final act. Haunting and rhythmic in equal measure, it rounds out a welcome Dopamine White debut for Pasindu, a rising artist who continues to have a great first year. Highly recommended.
