Releases Notamous – Black Horizon [Movement Limited] By Release Promo Posted on 3 hours ago 7 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Tash’s Movement Limited opens the new year by welcoming Notamous to the label for their debut single. Hailing from Lithuania, but now calling the United States home, the Notamous production duo has been honing their sound since first merging in 2023. Their unique combination of musical influences, coupled with a diverse cultural background has taken them to releases via Droid9, Kitchen Recordings, One Of A Kind, Runemark and their own Kodai imprint which acts as their primary home. With 2024 marking their most prolific and creative year to date, the Chicago residents now open 2025 with their Movement Limited debut ‘Black Horizon’, alongside a remix from Hobin Rude. The original mix leads the release off in fine fashion and only furthers the duo’s knack for crafting cutting edge progressive house. Warm kick drums and a bed of key-changing bass swells provide the anchor for layers of clattering percussion and pyrotechnic stabs. Cruising with an effortless ease, there's a strong sense of flow across the first act, as cross-cultural motifs sit neatly below the surface, not only adding depth and character, but a tension filled rise leading into a timely break. Here, prophetic design qualities and trance inducing arps create a sense of anticipation and emotion, eventually giving way to a tasteful build and uplifting finale. Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of ‘Black Horizon’ is Hobin Rude who makes his label debut. Hailing from Serbia, Hobin Rude first emerged in 2020 on the strength of a remix for Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. His progressive sounds quickly found favour with the genre's premiere tastemakers Armen Miran, Eelke Kleijn, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, eventually leading to releases via Hoomidaas, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and WARPP. Also an established DJ, the Belgrade resident has played across the globe, showcasing his keen sense of dancefloor dynamics alongside elite international talents Guy J, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green and Volen Sentir, amongst others. Movement Recordings has also been a regular landing spot for Hobin, with his debut coming in 2022 with the 'It Was and It Will' EP, a release which yielded two subsequent remixes across the next two calendar years. Now, making his debut on the label’s Limited division, Hobin delivers a stellar interpretation of ‘Black Horizon’. Adding his own unique vision to the piece, Hobin opts for a club-effective approach here, focusing on a cohesive blend of swaying basslines, grooved-out rhythms and fragmented effects, while tastefully incorporating the original's mysterious sonic traits, sealing what is a transcendent dancefloor journey to round out the release in style.
