Nikko.Z – Elements [Dopamine Music]

The latest release from Dopamine Music finds label boss Nikko.Z back in the spotlight with a brand new EP. In a year spent retooling his sound the Greek artist has showcased his unique sonic approach through releases on Movement Recordings and Proton Music, both of which earned acclaim from Hernan Cattaneo. Now making a welcome return to his home imprint Nikko presents a brand new two track EP entitled 'Elements'.

Forever treading the waters between deep house, progressive house and techno, Nikko's studio repertoire knows no boundaries. The lead track 'Elements' finds the Greek artist returning to his progressive roots for a deep, rolling creation full of modern motifs. It's galloping groove sets the framework in motion as percussion begins to fire and spacey electronics steal the air. As the break commences the groove remains locked, building tension before a wave of effects ignites the beats for a magical dance floor moment.

The companion piece 'From The Past' follows suit with more boundless creativity. Rough, rolling and well textured it's a deeper complement to 'Elements'. Equally engaging, it follows a shifting atmospheric storyboard, culminating in a final break of percussive flashes, acidic rhythms and phases synths. A perfect way to round out a return to Dopamine Music for label boss Nikko.Z. Highly Recommended.
