Musique de Lune opens the spring season by welcoming Namatjira to the label for his debut EP. Having developed a passion for electronic music from an early age, Joost van der Vleuten aka Namatjira has now firmly etched his place in the history of progressive house. With a career spanning the better part of two decades, the Dutch artist has earned the praise of world class DJs such as Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Nick Warren and Sasha, while showcasing his music on renowned record labels, most notably Anjunadeep, Armada, Purified, Songuara and Sudbeat. Joost's unique take on progressive and organic house has also seen him remix some of electronic music's biggest stars in Armin Van Buuren and Guy J. Now furthering what has already been a storied career, Namatjira adds Musique de Lune to his resume with a four-track showcase 'Und So Weiter'.

The title selection sits as a prime example of Namatjira's elusive craftmanship, invoking a rare combination of hope, heartache, reflection and meditation across it's seven-minute storyboard. Warm key changing basslines and fluttery arps complement an energetic core perfectly, without ever pushing too hard and sitting on the wrong side of cool, eventually leading to the calming sounds of selection two 'Atacama'. Rich in tone and texture, there is also a keen emphasis on rhythm and musicality, as flickering percussion and balmy basslines lay the foundation for muted pianos, cascading chord stabs and wispy atmospherics to find the perfect balance of groove and emotion.

The collection's halfway point is marked by the beautifully titled 'Where The Sun Shines Yesterday'. Pitched somewhere comfortably between dreamy reverie and melodic bliss, it's a piece equally at home above an outdoor skyline or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of a morning scenario. Captivating and poignant in equal measure, it's soothing nature tastefully melts down into the fluid tranquility of 'Nothing in Between'. An apt closer which forecasts it's cinematic appeal through wavy arpeggiated sequences, haunting vocal refrains and evolving atmospherics which border on hypnagogic. For those who believe that music can affect people on a deeper, universal and emotional level, this collection is one to treasure. Highly recommended.
