We last heard from the UK born, US based artist in May of this year with his well received 'In One Hit' single. Also coming courtesy of North Origin it was an electro flavoured progressive cut that transcended genres and further diversity Midge's meticulous discography. Now landing back on his comfortable home of North Origin, the Philadelphia resident presents the much anticipated double a-side 'Time / Solar'. Beginning with 'Solar' Midge crafts a deep, enchanting narrative that sets the tone for the release. Warm and groovy, it’s rippling low end is wonderfully contoured, while detailed percussion, dreamy arps and timely overlays fill in the framework. Musically inspired yet tastefully restrained the centrepiece is perfectly story boarded, with tension coming in waves, before eventually melting away into the infectious groove for a storming finale. The release concludes with the equally impressive 'Time’. While the design and overall vibe remain quite true to it’s predecessor there’s a more traditional progressive house sensibility behind this one. Mildly astral yet still emotive at points, there’s a strong message inside this one, conveying reflective qualities during the main break. Brief yet poignant, it’s a fascinating contrast and one which reveals an artist operating at their creative peak. Midge remains one of the freshest names in the progressive house underground, with this offering landing as his most mature work to date. Early support from some of the genre's top tastemaker's in Sasha, Guy J and Petar Dundov make this a highly recommended two track. Don't miss it.
