It's been a quick start to the year for the Hernan Cattaneo favourite, having already notched remixes for Juicebox Music and Yin::Yang with two more on the way for Plaisirs Sonores and Just Movement. The Belarus based artist always seems to save some of his most sought after original work for Genesis and his latest entitled 'Maasai' is no different. We've seen a more refined, trippier vibe to Michael's tracks and remixes of late, and 'Maasai' continues that ethos with a wealth of astral designs to get lost in. It begins with a warm, spacious groove however; deep, rolling and nicely accented with stunning effects and neatly tailored percussion. The cosmic appeal of the piece really hits home during the main break as sparkling electronics pan in and out of the stereo field before a mildly tense build unleashes the groove and a trail of frayed percussion for a stellar finale. Already performing well amongst DJs pre-release it continues a great start to 2019 for both Michael A and Genesis Music.
