Releases Matan Caspi – Delirious [Afterglow] By Release Promo Posted on 3rd June 2019 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Matan Caspi returns to Afterglow Records with a new single alongside a remix from Stan Kolev. The Israeli artist made his debut on the German imprint nearly a decade ago with a remix of Sezer Uysal's 'Aura'. 2011 then yielded a second remix before eventually returning in July of last year for an inspired take on 'Celestials' by Sam Heyman. Matan's decade long career has been a fruitful one, highlighted by releases on Clubsonica Records, Hope Recordings, JOOF Recordings, Movement Recordings and his own Outta Limits imprint. Now as the summer season is set to kick off Matan returns to Afterglow for his first single ‘Delirious’ alongside a remix from Stan Kolev. Beginning with the groovy, cutting edge sounds of the original mix it’s clear Matan has crafted some of his best ever work. Fresh and dramatic across it’s seven minute journey, it’s a sensory delight full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey arps and textural drifts add a cosmic vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of growling synths, clustered drums and cinematic tones. For as dramatic as it is the drop is tastefully restrained, ushering in the beats with a stylish flair as symphonic overlays shift the narrative towards an exhilarating finale. The lone interpretation of ‘Delirious’ is provided by Stan Kolev who makes his Afterglow debut here. The Bulgarian artist lays claim to an extensive discography dating back to 2005. Appearances on Armada, Blackhole and Spinnin laid the groundwork for what has been an incredible career. More recently Stan has been dominating Beatport’s Progressive House charts with a string of outings on Beatfreak, Movement Recordings his own Outta Limits imprint. Here he provides a fresh take on ‘Delirious’, with a more open and haunting approach. Tight beats and tranquil lines set an emotive mood early, with ghostly vocals, buzzing stabs and sweeping atmospherics only adding to it’s electric charm. The main break furthers the grandiose appeal, allowing the vocal overlays and crunchy arps to float in a perfect sonic marriage, before muted kicks and percussive waves rise towards a rousing drop. No doubt set for a massive dance floor reaction it rounds out two stunning pieces of music from two of the progressive scenes most sought after artists. Highly recommended.
