The Russian artist first appeared on the Estonian imprint with the 'Huracan' EP. Released in October and written in conjunction with Monograph, the three track offering earned praise from progressive music fans and DJs alike. Now returning for his first solo project, Marcus presents a new single alongside remixes from The Loco and Alex Konstantinov. Dark, chugging and full of great momentum, it is the original mix which leads the release off. Although a new name, Marcus is quickly getting known for his crisp beats and hypnotic drive. Those traits shine once again on 'magnetic' as he crafts a mid-set piece that creates a stunning atmosphere. A simple fuzzed out riff is the highlight here, coming fruition across the first act and creates a memorable moment during a pensive break, before ultimately leading the road home during a cosmic finale. Returning to the label and providing the first remix is Early Origin boss The Loco who takes the track in an old school direction. It's classic groove is unmistakable; full, warm and rolling, it sets the pace for an emotive journey. Playful chord stabs and sweeping effects standout across the first act while a gentler take on the lead theme sits in glowing resonance during the main break, before smoothly segueing into a key changing finale. The second and final interpretation of 'Magnetic' is provided by Alex Konstantinov who returns to the label following his 'Fjord' single from two weeks ago. As one of Deepwibe's stalwart artists, the Russian producer now delivers his fourth remix for the label since making his debut in May of this year. Fast becoming a favourite amongst progressive DJs, Alex's remix aims squarely for a peak time dance floor with it's electric energy and no nonsense groove. Robust rhythms, sweeping effects and a variety of percussive details make for a sensory saturating first act, before haunting overlays segue into an emotive yet tense break and chugging final movement.
