Lily Pita – Unforgivable Time [Soundteller Records]

Lily Pita makes a welcome return to Deersky's Soundteller Records with 'Unforgivable Time' alongside remixes from Matt Rowan and Greenage. The Indonesian artist last appeared on the Polish imprint in September of 2018 with her well received 'Concorde' EP. Lily's fresh take on progressive music has also found a home on Beatfreak, Bedrock, Controlled Substance and ICONYC. Now following a remix for Yin to the begin the year, Lily presents her first original project of 2020 via Soundteller Records.

The original mix kicks the release off with both groovy and atmospheric qualities. It’s chunky cadence is nicely accentuated with tailored percussion and luminous tones. Rugged stabs then further the storyboard, leading to a stripped middle section which builds tension through an elephant-like motif, before wondrous atmospherics descend over the framework for a groovy finale.

The first interpretation of 'Unforgivable Time' is provided by Matt Rowan who makes his label debut. The Aussie artist is well known amongst long time progressive music fans for his releases on Baroque Records and Hope Recordings. Having enjoyed a resurgence over the last year Matt has recently found a home Balkan Connection and Proton Music. Now making his first appearance on Soundteller, the Sydney resident dials in a fresh take on 'Unforgivable Time'. Anchored by punchy beats and a fluid groove it’s both smooth, alluring from the outset. Rhythmic tones, timely effects and a fragmented take on the lead theme make for a stimulating first act, before a stripped centrepiece ups the drama, perfectly setting up a groovy finale.

Rounding out the release and making his second appearance on the label is Greenage. As one of India's most well known progressive house artists, Greenage has recently taken his sound into deeper territory with releases on The Purr and RYNTH. Having first appeared on Soundteller in 2015 with a contribution to the label's 'Spring Sampler', Greenage now returns with a gorgeous take on 'Unforgivable Time'. While the tempo remains the same the vibe is considerably deeper, making it a great complement to the previous two mixes. Fluttery melodic concepts, radiant atmospheres and a less distinct take on the main theme make for a dreamy and hugely satisfying journey. A classy remix from Greenage which caps off an excellent offering from Soundteller Records once again.
