Gvozdini – Low Red Moon [Just Movement]

The 59th release on Just Movement welcomes Gvozdini back to the label for a new single. The Ukrainian artist first appeared on the Dutch/Greek imprint in July of 2016 with a remix of 'Believe' by Pablo German. 2017 saw Gvozdini return to the label for a second remix, this time overhauling 'Denab' by Argentine super duo EANP. Now following a release on Balkan Connection, Gvozdini returns to Just Movement for his first single alongside remixes from Govinda and Sean McCaff.

Although known for his pure progressive house roots Gvozdini crosses over into melodic techno territory with 'Low Red Moon'. Beginning with punchy, dulcet beats and esoteric arps, it's momentous drive is immediately infectious. Warm bass swells flow through smooth chord changes leading nicely to an emotive break. Short yet symphonic it's a charming interlude of cinematic waves and trippy electronics, perfectly building anticipation towards a driving finale.

The first interpretation of 'Low Red Moon' is provided by Govinda who is making his label debut. Hailing from Argentina, Pablo Francisco Retamero aka Govinda has been pushing his unique style of house and techno for over a decade. First as part of the Le Microkosmos duo which toured the globe playing at Creamfields with the likes of Boys Noize, Faithless, Simian Mobile Disco and Crystal Castles, to present day as he operates solo as Govinda. Now fresh off an EP for Movement Recordings, Govinda makes his Just Movement debut with an ethereal take on 'Low Red Moon'. The main themes translate wonderfully over a warm, pulsating groove while additional rhythmic hooks add their own unique charm, most prominent during the final break before a timely drop initiates a purring final act.

The second and final interpretation of 'Low Red Moon' is provided by label artist Sean McCaff who returns for his fifth appearance. The Dutch artist last appeared on Just Movement in February of 2016 with a contribution to the label's 'Winter' collection. Now presenting his first new production in over a year Sean delivers a superb rendition of 'Low Red Moon' to close the release out. As the most progressive minded take it sits as a lovely compliment to the previous two versions, delivering the most emotive moments, resulting in a concise and enjoyable six minute journey.
