Aphex Twin - Xtal [R&S Records] When I’m out of musical ideas nothing helps me more than Aphex Twin music; he’s one of my super heroes, which always reminds me why I’m into this. Gai Barone - Diade [Shiny People] I know it sounds weird that a track I made is influencing myself, but there were productions of mine that really changed the way I produce music; This is a moment of my life I’m falling in love again with ambient music, love spending my late night hours in studio on sound designing: this tune was completely made on a Virus TI, just 5 tracks, recorded live on single takes…took me around one hour hour to mix it and master it, and it’s still one of my favorite tracks of mine ever! Mystic Force - Mystic Force (Original Mix) [MFS Records] Even though it’s something I don’t listen too much nowadays, this one was one of my favorite tracks from the early days of trance music, the rolling bass and the Arps has been an essential part of my musical journey for a long time! Derek Howell - Your Touch [Global Underground] Mr Nick Warren introduced me to this beauty, taken from his incredible mix for GU 028 Shanghai! Superb production and incredible chord progression, still impressing me after many years. Lank - Run on Fumes (Gai Barone Remix) [microCastle] That’s another track of mine really appreciated by different djs and producers out there; like Diade, it happened, I simply let it flow and the track came out suddenly after 2 days, in a very organic way; everything started from a Bass Station Bassline, and the stunning sound design from Lank did the rest! It really changed my workflow. LFO - LFO (Leeds Warehouse Mix) [Warp] My musical background was deeply influenced by the piano academy where I spent many years of my life; I have to say thank you to those guys that shuttered and literally destroyed all my conventional ideas of creating music. Moderat - More Love (Rampa &ME Remix) [keinemusik] Since I’m not only a nostalgic middle age man, I wanted to show my love to the Keinmusik team cause they’re doing great atm. Many of their productions have pretty much everything I love in electronic music , proper drums, amazing melodies and they usually are not cheesy. Lostep. - Burma (Sasha Remix) [Global Underground] Another GU winner here, I’d love to meet Sasha some day and show him my immense gratitude for producing this incredible track. Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) [Virgin Records] I’m always a big fan of him, as a person, and of course as a musician, his incredible and unmatchable way to create magic is simply something from another world, a real alien.
