With a career that spans the better part of a decade, UK artist Daniel Watts aka Fractal Architect has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of electronic music, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Long standing imprints 3rd Avenue, Cinematique, Manual Music and Stellar Fountain have been landing spots for his far reaching creations. Movement Recordings has also been a vehicle for Fractal Architect, beginning in 2019 with his 'Hideaway' EP to most recently in 2020 with a three-track affair 'Not Going Back'. Now, continuing to build a bond with the Movement label collective, Fractal Architect debuts on the Limited division with 'Resurrection'. Comprised of three distinctive and equally compelling creations, it is the deep, nourishing sounds of' 'Canna' which sets the tone for the EP. Instantly seductive, its delicate breakbeats, meandering arps and key-changing bass swells provide an emotive framework for hopeful pads and vocal overlays to deliver a goosebump worthy finale. The second and also title selection 'Resurrection' follows a similar sonic profile but with a greater lean towards the dancefloor. Fractal Architect operates at the peak of his creative powers across a gorgeous seven minute running time, effortlessly melding creamy melodies with balmy atmospheres and perfectly manicured beats. Rounding out the release is 'Virga' which showcases Fractal Architect's knack for storytelling. Full of detail and idiosyncrasies, it's a hopeful voyage where the UK artist explores a storyboard of breathy vocal elements and meandering musical coactions.
