Fernando Olaya – Sunday [One Of A Kind]

Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind returns with a brand new single from Fernando Olaya. The Colombian artist and Sonnet Speciale label boss is fresh off an outstanding EP for Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings and a remix for Paul Hazendonk's MNL. Now making his One Of A Kind debut Fernando presents his latest single alongside remixes from Balad and Dynacom.

At one time Fernando was perhaps thought of as a melodic techno artist but his style seems to have opened up a lot over the years to where he sits comfortably in the progressive scene as well. His latest entitled ' Sunday' is further evidence of that with it's tough, rippling groove and uniquely flavoured melodies. The main break showcases some lovely harmonics, gently descending over muted beats before flurries of drums ignite a smooth conclusion with gorgeous chord progression.

Leading off the remixes and making his label debut is Balad. Although only appearing on the scene just over a year ago the Australian artist has already compiled an impressive discography with releases on Lost Diaries and Parquet Recordings. Now for his One Of A Kind debut he takes 'Sunday' into ethereal territory with a dreamier narrative highlighted by an expansive and hugely emotive centerpiece. Poignant and dramatic in equal measure, it's two minute stretch is filled with tranquil, meditative qualities that effortless shift energy into a heartfelt finale.

The release concludes with a third One Of A Kind debutant in Dynacom. The Argentinean artist has had an incredible year with releases on Magnitude Recordings, Proton's Particles and his fast rising Auditen imprint. He's developed a rough and rugged progressive sound all his own which continues to delight the genres most diehard fans. For his 'Sunday' interpretation we get to see a slightly dreamier side of his repertoire with a gorgeous atmospheric storyboard. His trademark tough low end keeps the dance floor sensibility high while your taken closer to the heavens with a soothing harmonic complement that's bound to generate some goosebump moments along the way. A gorgeous interpretation from Dynacom which caps off an impressive offering from One Of A Kind once again. Highly Recommended.
