Presenting their sixth release of the year, Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Federico Monachesi back to the label with ‘Redstone’. With a career that spans the better part of two decades, the Argentinean artist lays claim to releases courtesy of Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records, while also earning the support of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and Nick Muir. A regular on Soundteller beginning with the release of 'Syzygy' in 2016, Federico has since gone on to deliver two additional singles across 2017-2018. Now following 2021 releases for Nature Rec and pad, Federico returns to Soundteller with 'Redstone', alongside remixes from Andres Moris and Max Blade.

Sticking to his pure progressive sound Federico's 'Redstone' delights with it's spacious yet groovy framework and nostalgic effects. Sitting at the heart of the creation is a warm, shapely bassline and fluid rhythmic core. Energetic and driving, its pulsating nature is inviting as colourful overlays, emotive chord changes and layers of clattering percussion make for an engaging journey. The narrative comes to full fruition during the main break, melting down to a collage of rumbling bass swells, tasteful melodies and stunning artefacts, before a quick build sparks a powerful drop and cosmic finale.

One of last year's fastest rising Argentinean artists was undoubtedly Andres Moris. Consistent and prolific in equal measure, the Cordoba resident highlighted the year with releases for Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Tash's Movement Recordings. His Soundteller debut lands with resounding success as he overhauls 'Redstone' in fine fashion, making for a great complement to the original. A deeper sensibility combined with a new found vocal narrative and indistinct yet whimsical piano motif make for an engaging journey every step of the way.

The release concludes with Max Blade returning to the label for his first remix of the year. Soundteller has been a primary home for the Argentinean artist since making his debut in 2020, with other notable releases coming courtesy of Bedrock and The Soundgarden. Max adds nicely to the release with an interpretation of 'Redstone' that is likely the most emotive of the three. The piano plays a larger role here, although still sitting gently below the surface, it's cascading ways play off poignant chord changes leading into the break, before ultimately giving way to a big drum roll and soaring finale. Stellar stuff from Max which rounds out three standout versions of Federico's 'Redstone', making for another excellent release from Soundteller Records. Don't miss it.
