Fabri Lopez – Feelings [Dreamers]

Fernando Ferreyra's Dreamers imprint returns, welcoming Fabri Lopez to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Villa Mercedes, the Argentinean artist has been hyped as one of his country's top up and coming progressive house producers. Recent releases on 3rd Avenue and Specific Music coupled with support form Hernan Cattaneo has made for a great year thus far. Now presenting his most anticipated project to date, Fabri debuts on Dreamers with 'Feelings'.

Emotion and groove have always been at a premium in Fabri's productions and the lead track 'Peace' certainly carries that ethos. Sitting comfortably in the deeper spectrum of progressive house it's joyous melodies and drifting harmonics are incredibly captivating. A beefy kick and subterranean groove keep it firmly on the dance floor while a misty break only adds to it's emotional allure. The second selection 'Emma' ups the tempo slightly and the enchanting vibes continue to grow through heavenly arps and a back bone of rolling beats and redolent rhythms.

The EP's halfway point is marked with 'Melody of Heart'. Aptly titled, it's a gorgeous musical excursion with a pure progressive feel. A galloping groove and clattering percussion forge a strong rhythmic core, while luminous textures and indistinct themes continue to build a heartfelt presence, before ultimately coming to full fruition during a windswept break. The release concludes with 'Dreamers', perhaps coined after the label itself, it showcases what we've all come to love about Fabri's productions. Deep rippling bass tones, timeless chord changes and a break which is appropriately dreamy conjure up a wealth of poignant feelings, while it's near ten minute running time hardly seems long enough. A gorgeous production from Fabri which caps off an excellent selection of music, perhaps the best of his young career. Can't wait to hear more. Highly recommenced.
