Erdi Irmak & Shane Blackshaw – Britannia {Original Vocal Edition} [Stripped Recordings]

Celebrating their 300th release, Stripped Recordings welcomes Erdi Irmak and Shane Blackshaw back to the label with 'Britannia'. With a career that now spans over a decade, Turkish artist Erdi Irmak initially found success with his progressive minded creations. UK imprint Stripped Recordings was one of the first label's to showcase Erdi's groovy, cross-cultural sound, where he first appeared all the way back in 2012. The emergence of organic house in 2018 proved to be an impactful time in Erdi's evolution as a producer, inspiring him to champion the sound in his own creations, and eventually landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Hoomidaas and Tale & Tone. Along the way Stripped Recordings remained a constant and was very much a home base for Erdi, as he appeared on the label twenty times over the course of eight years. With Stripped Recordings now celebrating their 300th release, it seems only appropriate that Erdi returns to the label to commemorate the occasion with the much anticipated vocal edition of 'Britannia’.

Electronic music fans got their first taste of 'Britannia' in June of 2018 with the release of the Dub Edition alongside the equally excellent 'Conjure'. Now over three years on, the 'Vocal Edition' lands at an appropriate moment and rings in Stripped's 300th release in fine style. Much like Erdi, Australian song writer Shane Blackshaw has also found a comfortable home on the long standing UK imprint, racking up nineteen discography in six years, while collaborating with world class producers Quivver, Kastis Torrau & Arnas D and more in the process. On 'Britannia' Erdi and Shane unite for a sleek, emotive slice of progressive house. The marriage of Erdi’s smooth and modern framework, along with Shane’s haunting yet impassioned vocals are a match made in harmonic heaven. His distinctive chops elicit such a broad range of emotions, while Erdi’s free flowing narrative provides the perfect backdrop to translate that message to the dance floor. No doubt one you're going to be hearing a lot in the coming months and a perfect track to put a stamp on Stripped's 300th offering. For an independent imprint to not only survive but flourish across 300 discography credits is something that should be applauded. It’s a mark of the global respect Stripped Recordings has achieved, and in an industry flooded with new labels on a near daily basis, they’ve done it by nurturing new artists just like Erdi was ten years ago, into some of the underground's most sought after names at present.
