Eleven Of July – Thinner [BrokenHearted]

Presenting their second release of the year, BrokenHearted welcomes Eleven Of July back to the label for a new EP. Since emerging in 2017, Italian sound architect Eleven Of July has developed a distinct brand of melodic house and techno. Renowned for his innovative melodies and club-effective approach, the Rome resident has compiled an impressive resume across a seven-year stretch. Movement Recordings, Pillar, Three Hands Records and his own BrokenHearted imprint have been regular landing spots for his cutting edge productions, as he continues to maneuver himself through the confines of modern techno music. Eleven Of July's first offering of 2024 'Avadavat', continued his mission to create dynamic dancefloor explorations, in turn earning support from key tastemakers across the melodic and progressive house spectrums. Now, presenting his second original project of the year, Eleven Of July lands back on his BrokenHearted imprint with a two-track showcase entitled 'Thinner'.

Beginning with the title selection Eleven Of July crafts a slice of modern melodic techno which is perfectly dialled for the dancefloor. Full of energetic qualities, the elusive talent smoothly blends punchy kick drums and tight compact grooves, with flashing stabs and rolling percussive, stepping decisively on the gas as the main break approaches. Looking to bring a greater sense of drama across the interlude, it's a trail of sonic artifacts and haunting atmospherics which bring that big room vibe, before a tension-filled build sparks a finale led by punishing beats and panoramic synth mutations.

Beneath the prophetic qualities of 'Thinner' lies the subversive vibes of 'Hybris'. Eleven Of July expounds his lavish future vision here, with obsessive rhythms and hyperspace melodies blanketing punishing beats and crunchy grooves. Clever textural co-actions marry metallic motifs throughout, while a pyrotechnic break preludes a finale of orbiting effects and carefully controlled energy.
