Eleven Of July – Recollection [BrokenHearted]

BrokenHearted opens 2024’s fourth quarter with a new EP from label boss Eleven Of July. In what has been a highlight filled career, Italian artist Eleven Of July has been prolific across the first three quarters of the year. April’s well-received two-track showcase ‘Avadavat’ would chart the course for July’s ‘Thinner’, an EP project which would highlight the summer season and find the Italian artist continuing to break new ground within his studio experiments. Also, flexing his prowess as a remixer, Eleven Of July would deliver a cosmically correct rework of ‘Misbehaving’ by Till Antonio for Berlin’s long-standing DIT KLINGT JUT imprint. Now, following a contribution to Vision 3’s ADE Sampler, Eleven Of July returns to his BrokenHearted imprint with the sprawling sounds of ‘Recollection’.

Spread across two A-side cuts, it’s the title selection ‘Recollection’ which further cements Eleven Of July’s dancefloor minded ethos with its dynamic drive and electric cadence. Anchored by rocketing beats and machine gun grooves, the journey tastefully builds to a wild-eyed intensity of striking stabs, haunted overlays and crystalline designs, carving out an energetic path into the break. With a peak-time focus that exudes spirit, Eleven Of July pulls from his expansive repertoire, introducing a sci-fi vocal narrative, tastefully intertwined with pyrotechnic stabs, as drums build towards a quiet calm and thunderous drop for the ultimate dancefloor rush.

The release concludes with the equally enthralling sounds of ‘Wild Embrace’, a track where Eleven Of July focuses on the prophetic moods for which he has built his career on. Tinted with provocative synths and buzzing stabs, the Italian’s unique emotionality peaks across the main break, as he crafts a super-charged dystopian romance, all while weaving in cerebral manipulations and festival-sized riffs, for what is an unforgettable dancefloor journey to round out the EP in style.
