Having first appeared on the Polish imprint with his 'Small Musical Stories' album in April of this year, the Argentinean artist has since gone on to showcase his music via TrybesOf and Selador. Also calling Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music home, DJ Paul now returns to Soundteller for a new three track showcase. Already beloved for his progressive music prowess, DJ Paul now stretches his creative wings into organic house territory across this release, beginning with the title selection 'Casa Del Bosque'. Anchored by a warm, well contoured groove, its atmospheric scope comes up quickly, with glowing overlays and blissful tones layering a bed of exotic percussion. Emerging pads and soulful wails add nicely to it's blissful narrative, stretching the first act past the five minute mark, as a second musical theme shifts energy into a glowing finale. Expanding his portfolio further, Paul travels closer to his progressive roots with 'Damn Platanus'. Its robust groove ripples with amazing character and energy, setting the foundation for a playful rhythmic theme and layers of finely tuned percussion. Quite reminiscent of something Guy J would play perhaps, it's positive energy is hard to resist, eventually coming to full fruition as the main melody opens up during the break for an amazing moment. Adding even greater depth to the track, DJ Paul adds a second arp following the drop, working perfectly with it's buoyant surroundings for a gorgeous conclusion. Rounding out the release are the tougher, more energetic vibes of 'Rid Tension'. The tempo comes up here, along with punchier beats and a fuller percussion section. Intriguing vocal samples steal the air at opportune moments, working nicely with arpeggiated fragments and timely effects, before gently accelerating to a tasteful crescendo following a tense, effects laden break. DJ Paul has also included a dub version of the track which carries the same infectious energy, minus the main musical themes for what results in a darker yet equally satisfying journey. It caps off a spirited collection of music from DJ Paul, one which touches on some of the best organic and progressive qualities that house music has to offer at the moment. Highly recommended.
