Releases Diego Poblets – Immortal [Or Two Strangers] By Release Promo Posted on 4th October 2017 0 second read 0 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release on Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint welcomes Diego Poblets to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist has been quiet for nearly two years following a 2015 which included outstanding releases on Classound Recordings and Sound Avenue. Now the Hernan Cattaneo favourite makes his much anticipated return with a brand new EP entitled 'Immortal' alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and Antrim & Analog Jungs. Spread out over three originals 'Immortal' explores a wide range of Diego's studio repertoire. Beginning with the title track the Argentine brings buzzing lines and electric motifs, all backed by a smooth, rolling foundation. Emotive chord changes and driving percussion flow wonderfully into a stripped down second act. Pulsating, rhythmic and delightfully meditative the break showcases subtle modulation, delivering poignant moments before a calculated build steals the air for a great finale. The EP's second selection 'Octopus' comes with a deeper yet equally engaging sensibility, as moody tones and heavy bass stabs lay down a dramatic flow early. Airy synths open up the framework leading into the break which proves emotive, with a trancy flair and classy drop. Diego's third and final original 'Warmer' adds further depth to the release with more of a minimalistic, timeless mood. Meaty kicks, clustered snares and a hazy, drifting atmosphere bring a reflective, calm vibe which a poignant, cinematic break just adds perfectly too. The lone interpretation of ‘Immortal’ is provided by Juan Deminicis who is making his first appearance on the label. As one of Argentina’s foremost electronic music talents Juan’s productions have been featured on both Sudbeat Music and Lost & Found Records. His deep and distinctive sound continues to be a favourite amongst the top DJs with Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J being two of his long time supporters. Now making his much anticipated debut on Or Two Strangers Juan puts his own unique twist on 'Immortal'. Deep and dubby in all the right ways the piece flows effortlessly with harmonic shifts, clustered claps and astral effects. A meditative second acts proves to be the most powerful; transcendent and emotive it's sparks a smooth drop and hypnotic finale. The lone interpretation of 'Octopus' is provided by sometime studio partners Antrim & Analog Jungs. The Argentinean tri o are fresh off a contribution to the labels 'Strangers CBA' collection released just last month. Now teaming up once again Antrim and Analog Jungs deliver a formidable interpretation of 'Octopus'. Distinctive and modern; the result is tougher and more deliberate with electric motifs and airy pads providing a unique contrast as the narrative moves into a short but timely break. As bass tones intensify so too does the mood and anticipation, rising before one final rush brings the groove back for a gorgeous third act. A lovely interpretation from Antrim and Analog Jungs which rounds out another exceptional offering from Or Two Strangers.
