Warwickshire based producer, Dave Walker has been honing his skills in the art of audio engineering and DJing for the last 20 years. As one half of The Stupid Experts and on his own, Dave has had many successful releases on various labels such as Balance Music, Bedrock, Forensic and Mango Alley, in turn generating plays across Radio 1 and Kiss FM. Dave’s evolution as an artist has allowed him to carve out his own forward-thinking style of progressive dance music, while always looking to push his creative boundaries. With 2024 being highlighted by ‘El Verano’, a Forensic vehicle in collaboration with Australian trio Keltik, Dave now adds Musique de Lune to his resume with a groovy remix of 'Dualism' by Juan Deminicis.

To celebrate the release of his 'Dualism' Remix, Dave Walker has curated 10 tracks which influenced his journey into progressive house. Enjoy!

Age of Love – Age Of Love

Call it trance or call it progressive—either way, this track is, in my opinion, one of the best dance tracks ever created. I had the incredible chance to speak with Jam El Marr, and I couldn’t resist asking him about how he made this masterpiece. Learning that he used frequency modulation on an old Prophet synthesizer to craft that powerful, sustained synth line was pure gold for any production enthusiast. Absolutely brilliant!

Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout (Casperpound Remix)

This was one of the first tracks that made me realize how a masterful arrangement can elevate the listener to another level. Across 12 mesmerizing minutes, it unfolds like a story. Simon Berry (aka Union Jack) has always been one of my favorite producers, but Casperpoud’s remix brings his work to an entirely new dimension.

Echomen - Substance

This track is a firm favorite among progressive house fans—and for good reason. It's an absolute timeless classic, setting trends with its incredible groove and stunning chord structure. I loved this track for years before I even met the talented Chris Scott, the genius behind this masterpiece, who has since become one of my closest friends.

Unity Three - Age Of Love Suite

I first heard this track back in the early '90s on Sasha and Digweed's legendary Renaissance Mix Collection. That hypnotic, looping vocal hooked me instantly—what an uplifting powerhouse of a track.

Havana – Sublime Theme (Dub)

This track’s classic chord-stab groove paired with its uplifting vocal hit the spot every time during the early days of progressive house. As a Scot, I loved Limbo Records for its forward-thinking and innovative sound, which truly influenced the direction I wanted to take with my own music.

Blue Amazon – No Other Love

What can I say about this track? Just wow! I remember hearing it for the first time—it completely blew me away. The gated synth line drives it forward relentlessly, and that breakdown set the standard for so many tracks to come. Pure genius!

Sasha – Mongoose

This track is the true art of simplicity, yet it creates an undeniable urge to get up and dance. In my opinion, it's one of the best progressive tracks ever written—innovative and groundbreaking!

Chab Feat.JD Davis - Closer To Me (Lexicon Avenue Vocal Remix)

Another gem from my good friend Chris Scott. This track still slays the dance floor to this day—another absolute classic. The groove and vocals are a perfect match, and that guitar line in the breakdown is simply incredible.

Jamie Stevens – Giovani

For me, this track is the epitome of forward-thinking. Jamie is truly one of the best in the scene—his production is incredible across the board, and his versatility is unmatched. He can tackle various styles with not just skill, but exceptional finesse. When this track dropped, I thought, 'WOW'—it completely changed the game and was so original.

Matter – Embrace

Another production genius, both on his own and alongside the incredibly talented GMJ. This track is a dreamy powerhouse, showcasing a level of production knowledge that surpasses many in our scene. Matty is a true innovator right now, with a style that many try to emulate.
