Presenting their second release of the year, Astral Records welcomes Che Jose to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Australia, Che Jose has emerged from his country's electronic music landscape, staking his claim as a future great in the melodic house and techno arena. Noted for his attention to detail, euphoric themes and main room energy, Che's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations a memorable experience. A meticulous discography showcasing a superlative stream of releases via Armada, ERRORR, Exx Muzik, Siona Records, UV Noir and his own F.T.F.T Records have been well-received, earning play and support from genre tastemakers Agents of Time, Korolova and Paul van Dyk, amongst others. With 2024 showcasing Che’s best work to date, the Australian continues that momentum into 2025 with his Astral Records debut ‘Mantra’, alongside a remix from Paul Anthonee.

On ‘Mantra’ Che showcases a peak time approach which sets the tone for the release. Full of dark textures and cutting edge design qualities, the Sydney resident expertly blends punchy kick drums and tough shapely grooves, with buzzing synth mutations, roboticized vocals and rolling rhythmic structures for an exhilarating journey into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, it’s a field of metallic melodies and reprocessed vocals which marry beautifully for a healthy dose of melodic tension, before a wave of noise cues a thunderous drop and epic finale.

The release concludes with Astral label boss Paul Anthonee providing the lone interpretation of ‘Mantra’. With a career that now spans over two decades, Cyprus based artist Paul Anthonee has achieved global recognition for his distinct sonic signature, often creating a complex rollercoaster of intricate yet club effective melodic house and techno. Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Innellea, Fideles and Kevin De Vries, amongst others, have praised his work, while Eleatics, Ritual, Running Clouds, Steyoyoke and UV Noir have all been a home to his far-reaching creations. In recent years however, Astral has served as the primary landing spot for his most in demand productions. Continuing to deliver fresh and exciting work as 2025 takes shape, Paul now returns to the label with a stunning rendition of ‘Mantra’. Opting for a mature yet peak hour approach, Paul carefully balances the mood and vibe from the Original with his own distinctive style. Evoking energy and emotion throughout, its hypnagogic vocals and charged percussion unveil a pyrotechnic dreamland, before a finale of mesmerizing vocal manipulation ensues.
