Bynomic – Moonfall [Another Life Music]

Following on from the success of 'Amethyst', Bynomic returns to his Another Life Music imprint with 'Moonfall'. Released in February amidst much praise, 'Amethyst' found Bynomic operating at the peak of his creative powers. In a rare three-track showcase, the Swiss artist once again found that perfect balance between groove and melody, in turn earning support from broad selection of electronic music tastemakers. Now, on the strength of projects for AH Digital and Sounds & Frequencies, Bynomic returns to his comfortable home of Another Life with 'Moonfall', alongside remixes from Lucas Martinez and Serge Canteros.

'Moonfall’ finds Bynomic crafting a retro-radiant slice of progressive house. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; its warm spacious basslines, liquid-like rhythms and rolling percussive arrangements resonate on a transcendent level. Meditative and melodic across the first movement, Bynomic finds a deeper more thought provoking space, as arpeggiated fragments, balmy textures and a nature-centric backdrop provide a bridge into a short but timely break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the Swiss artist unveils a stunning melodic narrative as the interlude evolves, flowing through wispy effects, glassy motifs and colourful textures, perfectly setting up an unassuming drop and smooth free flowing finale.

Making his label debut and providing the first remix is Lucas Martinez. Based in Argentina, Lucas first emerged a short two years ago with releases via BCSA and One Of A Kind. Quick to rise, the Villa Mercedes resident has continued to develop his progressive sound, while also being a fixture of his countries nightlife, sharing gigs with top international talents Guy J and Kamilo Sanclemente. Now, fresh off a remix for Madloch's Future Avenue, Lucas makes his Another Life Music debut with a groovy take on 'Moonfall'. Taking inspiration from the original, Lucas brings his smooth nostalgic flow to the track with pulsating beats, rolling basslines and a myriad of shapeshifting effects. Stripping down into the main break, the Argentine digs deeper into his creative repertoire, introducing percolating arps, ghostly vocal fragments and clattering percussive arrangements, all neatly building to a feel good drop and key changing conclusion.

The release concludes with Serge Canteros returning to the label for the second and final remix of 'Moonfall'. Although only a year into his production journey, the Argentinean artist has already established a bond with Another Life. May 2022 marked his label debut with the release of 'Singular', before going on to appear on June's 'Summer Vibes' collection. Also laying claim to projects via BC2 and Droid9 South America, the Tierra del Fuego resident now returns to Another Life for his first remix, taking 'Moonfall' into old school territory. A DJ friendly intro takes shape with plush beats and clattering percussive arrangements providing the perfect balance of warmth and drive. Electric pulses and grinding rhythms layer the fluid framework, as wispy effects and emotive chord changes steal the air. The narrative shifts across the main break with creamy melodies fading in and out of coherence, creating an air of anticipation onwards to a heavenly conclusion. An inspired interpretation from Serge which caps off an excellent return to Another Life for Bynomic, an artist who continues to rise in the world of progressive house. Highly recommended.
