Andres W – Spore [Stellar Fountain]

Stellar Fountain begins the new year with Andres W returning to the label for a brand new single. Having last appeared on the Hungarian imprint with a remix of Arthur Minnahmetov in July of 2017, the Argentinean artist now returns with ‘Spore’ alongside remixes from MiraculuM and Tech D.

The traditional progressive house sound which resonates so strongly in Argentina has become the core of Andres' sound. The chugging, melodic sensibilities of ‘Spore’ certainly dictate that once again. Clocking in at nearly nine minutes it’s a free flowing journey through astral melodies and spacey motifs. Quite fitting of the Stellar Fountain ethos and another great addition to the label’s catalog.

The first interpretation of ‘Spore’ is provided by Stellar Fountain label boss Miraculum. The Hungarian artist is coming off what many consider to be his best year ever. Operating at a creative peak, 2017 saw Miraculum showcase his music on Hydrogen, Slideways and Soundteller Records. Here he gets the new year off to a great start by putting his own unique spin on ‘Spore’. In dropping the tempo, the main themes resonate strongly throughout the first act, eventually initiating the main break, where things take an interesting turn. Miraculum has a knack for crafting spaced out designs and as the interlude transitions into a section of broken beats, the track’s sonic scope grows immensely, as trailing spirals build to a darker, more stripped back drop and ultimately a stirring melodic finale.

The release concludes with Tech D making his long awaited label debut. The Ukrainian artist has found a home on Balkan Connection and Clinique Recordings where his music has resonated with progressive house fans across the world. His interpretation of 'Spore' maintains the deeper sensibility of the original quite well, while incorporating a few more progressive hallmarks in the track. The lengthy break comes at precisely right the time, shifting the rugged groove into a storyboard of smooth, melodious bass tones before a well crafted build propels the track to an exhilarating finale. A great remix from Tech D which rounds out a top release from Stellar Fountain to begin 2018.
