Analog Jungs – Road / Halo / Magic Arp [Beat Boutique]

DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique welcomes Analog Jungs to the label for their debut EP. Based in Cordoba, the Argentinean duo have been one of the progressive scenes most inspiring acts over the last year. Support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren along with releases on Hope Recordings, Or Two Strangers and The Soundgarden have all been sensational. Now landing on the perpetually hot Beat Boutique, Analog Jungs unveil their three track artist EP 'Road / Halo / Magic Arp'.

Beginning with 'Road' Analog Jungs explore the pure progressive side of their studio repertoire. Free flowing from the outset it’s warm, robust low end provides momentous swing while gentle melodic hooks and airy atmospheres continue to elevate mood and emotion. Stripping down into the main break, the heavenly storyboard expands, opening up a spiritual reservoir through cinematic soundscapes and icy pads, before a gentle drum roll effortlessly shifts energy into a purring finale act.

The second selection ‘Halo’ follows a similar sonic ethos with a leaning into groovier territory. Beginning with a warm, spacious foundation the piece moves with discernible momentum as layers of drums, dulcet rhythms and creamy melodies converge in a wave of sound and colour. Although indistinct, childlike motifs adorn the main break before a luminous tonal theme literally takes your breathe away. Charming and musical in equal measure, it's reflective qualities are hard to deny, making for an interlude that is both memorable and poignant.

The release concludes with ‘Magic Arp’ which presents more positive vibes across its eight minute journey. Carrying a bit of that old school Lost & Found ethos, the melodic narrative is perhaps the strongest on the EP, building in waves before soaring pads and tasteful modulation make for an elegant peak to round out the release on an epic note. Stellar stuff from Analog Jungs who continue to deliver some of the best progressive music around. I look forward to watching them continue to rise cause the sky is the limit for this talented duo.
