Continuing what has been a great year, Wout Records welcomes Alexiandro back to the label for a new EP. Born in Sicily but now based in the French Riviera, Alexiandro made his debut on Wout Records in December of last year with a contribution to the label's popular 'Wout Stars' collection. Finding a comfortable home on the label, Alexiandro then returned for his first artist EP in April of this year. Comprised of three tracks it showcased the Italian artists penchant for crafting astral sonics over contemporary techno frameworks, not unlike what is currently favoured by Tale of Us and Mind Against. Continuing to build a bond with Wout Records, Alexiandro now returns for a much anticipated follow up EP entitled 'Lost City', alongside a remix from Pisetzky.

Beginning with the title selection, Alexiandro delivers one of his best productions to date. Led by a punchy groove, pulsating rhythms and astral stabs, its ethereal nature proves to be quite compelling. Dark and mysterious across the first act, it’s flair for the dramatic grows as a crunchy arp rises to prominence, set against a backdrop of percussive flurries and striking effects. Bringing an emotive slant to the narrative, Alexiandro crafts a poignant break, flowing through glowing pads and devilish effects, before eventually revealing a wonky arp which spearheads a thunderous drop and suitably twisted finale. The companion piece 'Explore' is equally brilliant and sits as a perfect complement to it's predecessor. It’s tough, muscular groove is nicely carved, adorned with dynamic drums, waves of percussion and compelling cosmic artifacts. Tastefully melodic, it's musical prowess proves irresistible, with impassioned chord changes bringing a colourful rush out of the break and onwards through an exhilarating finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Lost City' is provided by Pisetzky who makes his label debut. Based in Milan, the Italian artist has been a fixture of the melodic house and techno underground for the better part of the last decade. Releases courtesy of Just This, Last Night On Earth, Oddity and Suara have led to support from the genre's most prominent tastemakers. Also well travelled as a DJ, Pisetzky has delighted crowds with his multi-layered soundscapes across the world, most notably at Burning Man, BPM Festival, Off Sonar and Afterlife at Space Ibiza. Now following a remix for Giorgia Angiuli, Pisetzky makes his Wout Records debut with a powerful rendition of 'Lost City'. Tempo and drive come up a few notches for an undeniably peak time affair. Taking a cue from the original, the Milan resident deconstructs the main arp into compelling cosmic hooks, while a robust, machine gun style groove translates that astral message to the dance floor. Building further tension, the main break melts down to a sonic sizzle as effervescent effects percolate against a back drop of melancholic pads, before a colossal build ushers in a surreal finale movement. A huge interpretation from Pisetzky, which rounds out an excellent EP from Alexiandro, an artist who continues to emerge in the world of melodic house and techno. Highly recommended.
