Noted for their strong techno lines and emotive melodies, German duo Add-us has managed to carve out a unique place in the world of melodic house. Formed in 2018, the duo has achieved measurable success across the last half-decade, taking their club friendly sound to Beatfreak, Future Romance, ICONYC, Lost On You, Parquet Recordings and Ritter Butzke. Now, fresh off a remix for their newly launched Artisan imprint, Add-us continues on an upwards trajectory with their Astral debut 'Losing Me'. The title selection finds Add-us calling upon the trance-inspired side of their repertoire. Sitting on a modern melodic perch, it's a marriage of beefy beats, chunky bass stabs and gritty percussion which form a dancefloor minded framework at the outset. The DJ friendly intro lets the listener relish in the groove, before electric chord stabs shift energy into trance-inducing melodies. Tactfully building across the break, the duo's main room vision never wavers, eventually reaching an exhilarating crescendo, perfectly cuing a drop of devilish synth swagger. Nostalgic and modern in equal measure, it's a nod to the genre's current trends while never straying away from the duo's tougher techno sensibilities. Continuing to push a trance oriented storyboard it is 'Deeper' which rounds out the release in fine style. Here, the duo's crisp design and darker monochromes conjure up otherworldly visions, as buzzing arps and orbiting effects layer a bed of punishing beats and growling basslines. Emotion builds as the journey reaches the main break, with heartfelt phrasing and wispy sonics creating a colourful canopy of sound, before a utopian vocal motif creates a bridge into a thunderous finale.
