Releases Aman Anand & NuFects – Botanika [roku] By Release Promo Posted on 5 hours ago 10 min read 0 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Roku opens the fall season by presenting a new EP from Aman Anand & NuFects. Indian born, Singapore based artist Aman Anand has had much success across his twelve-year career. With a cutting-edge style, Aman has become beloved within the progressive music spectrum, recording standout projects for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Sudbeat and WARPP, while also earning play and support from the genre's elite guard in Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Meanwhile, conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects, quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente. Also finding a place in the more melodic uptempo realms of the genre, legends Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone became NuFects supporters, playlisting their music and making the duo a legit crossover act. Now, combining their extensive forces for roku, Aman and NuFects unveil their debut collaborative EP ‘Botanika’, alongside remixes from Nishan Lee and Redspace. The release gets underway with the title track and shows just how strong the creative synergy is between Aman and NuFects. The duo's craftsmanship reveals itself as a DJ friendly intro sets the pace for fluttery synth mutations and a vortex of effects to layer a tough, driving bassline. Carving out an energetic path into the break, its clusters of melodic fragments which keep anticipation and emotion high, as the interlude melts down to percussive rides and further melodic meanderings, eventually revealing a filtered crescendo and suitable thunderous finale. Beneath the engaging qualities of 'Botanika’ lies the equally intriguing vibes of ‘Alcazares'. Aman and NuFects expound their lavish future vision here, with obsessive rhythms and hyperspace sonics blanketing punishing beats and chunky grooves. Clever textural co-actions marry growling synth-lines and finely tuned percussion, while an emotive break complete with balmy melodies and warm chord changes preludes a finale of carefully controlled sonic manipulations. Making his label debut with the first interpretation of ‘Botanika’ is Nishan Lee. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Nishan Lee has enjoyed much success over the course of his now decade-long production career. Key projects for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Plattenbank and The Soundgarden sit prominently on his discography, while progressive music tastemakers in Cid Inc, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Nick Warren and more have been steadfast with support. In a year that has already seen the Colombo resident deliver standout remixes for Comet Records and Deep Down Music, Nishan now adds roku to his resume with a groovy take on ‘Botanika’. Opting for a hypnotic approach, Nishan carefully balances the mood and vibe from the Original with his own distinctive style, one which evokes its emotions through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing its conceptual charm, as hypnagogic arps unveil a semi-conscious dreamland for a finale of mesmerizing machine progression. The release concludes with Redspace making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of ‘Botanika’. Hailing from Russia, Redspace first emerged in 2020 with a series of self-released projects. Immediately recognized for his club-friendly sound, the fast-rising phenom would go on to land releases via Area Verde, Freegrant Music and more, in turn earning the praise of Ferry Corsten, John Digweed and Paul Van Dyk. The last two calendar years have seen Redspace operate at his most prolific to date, with projects for Mango Alley, RKP, Univack and Yomo Records highlighting what has been a strong creative stretch. Always an in demand remixer, Redspace now makes his roku debut with a superb take on ‘Botanika’. Shapely grooves and rolling rhythms marry beautifully with flickering sonics and gentle melodic lines. Hopeful atmospheres and trance-inducing vocal stabs take centrestage leading into the main break, bringing equal amounts of exhilaration and serenity, before further melodic manipulation and a wave of drums sparks a groove-centric drop and swing heavy conclusion to round out the EP on a high note.
